A self-contained elastomeric shock that mounts on brackets between the engine and the chassis. It reduces extreme engine movement and dampens the motion, providing many benefits. The Stiffy was originally intended for the sport compact market, but can be used for some Hot Rod applications if it is applied correctly.
Benefits Greatly improved off-the-line acceleration Reduced wheel hop Improved vehicle stability Reduced shock loads on driveline components Smoother shifting Reduced wear on exhaust system joints Less vibration transmission to the driver compared to polyurethane motor mounts. Less shock load, compared to torque straps and chains. Drifting helps reduce shock loads when wheels gain traction. Reduces motor movement decreases the chance of motor parts rubbing against the hood and frame.

The TD does what it's supposed to. The install was a breeze too. Someone else commented about thread locker, and other lock-tite like things. I read about these issues but with a few weeks time on the TD I have yet to encounter any issues. I got thicker rubber washers from Home Depot, and used some Dynamat on the bracket that attaches to the strut tower/frame. My vibrations are almost non-existent. I honestly can't even tell that I have a TD on the car, except for when i'm going off from a stop, it just BARELY vibrates. When I mean I can't tell that I have one on, I mean in terms of vibration and discomfort. Wheel hop wasn't completely elminated for me, but it was SIGNIFICANTLY reduced. I was wheel hopping out of my mind before, and now it just barely does it towards redline in first gear. Really helped me on gears 1--->2, especially on the shift as well. Excellent product, and a worthy alternative to ESMM or full on motor mounts.

After adjusting it to my liking, It took away almost all of the unnecessary engine movement. Works the way it's supposed to, and looks nice too.
Ingalls Engine Damper, 7.29.2008

The product works, but I have had multiple problems with the construction of the damper. Both the sides of the body of the damper have come apart due to vibration from the motor. I think Ingalls needs to put a little more engineering into the product. For example a little thread locker during assembly of the damper would have prevented my frustration. The installation was painful due to the limited space. Besides the troubles the damper eliminated wheel hop and the car shifts firmer. I have yet to experience the noisy idle.
GREAT product!, 6.11.2008

I installed this at the same time as my ESMM, so i cant tell you how it is on its own, but i started the car with just the mounts, and it rocked slightly, then with this, and it say STILL, and i was amazed at how well it did its job! highly recommended!
