Love the MR Test Pipe, 4.20.2008 Reviewer: D@nny (Santa Clarita, CA) Everyone says this test pipe sux, but to tell you the truth it doesnt. This test pipe is good for Turbo Application and also it elimates the Catalytic Converter so when you need to smog (Cali Emissions) you just simply remove it and put ur stock Cat on. You also need good Motor Mounts to keep it stiff so nothing cracks or rubs against the sway bar, but other than that I recommend it. Test pipe "stinks", 4.8.2008 Reviewer: Brian Blackhall (Felton, DE) This is an ok upgrade; noticeable top-end gains and slightly better acceleration. But you can't beat the gains for the price. It's an inexpensive upgrade that eliminates that ultra-restrictive cat, and helps get the rpms out the engine! On the downside, fitment and alignment are not so great. It could be because of my setup, but that should not make that much of a difference. To note, I am running a Comptech 4-2-1 header with a Comptech full cat-back. I encountered problems with the test pipe shifting the position of the exhause closer to the driver side, and as a result, placing the rear o2 sensor dangerously close to the body of the car. The rear muffler hanger was now rattling against the body as well. Aside from alignment issues, the fitment at the header was very "tight". Basically, Megan welded a much thicker flange onto their pipe which does not allow movement of the exhaust when attached to the header. I have seen this put unnecessary strain on the gasket, which leads to premature wear and ultimately, replacement. Lastly, the stock photo provided by megan is deceiving. This pipe is no longer resonated! This is not a bad thing per se, but it creates a lot of noise under the car during acceleration! Aside from the above, and the smells of bad farts, not a bad upgrade for the price. If you're really serious about getting some gains from the engine, buy a race header.
