  1. Problems & Solutions RSX
Hello I have a 2002 acura rsx type s and it jumped about 4 teeth because of low oil pressure. Should I be worried about the heads and valves or would it be okay to replace the timing chain and tensioner? Or if theres a way to see how the heads and valves are without taking apart the whole...

I’m having a low frequency knock every .5 seconds at idle, it disappears above idle rpm and I’m stumped. Video here heard it could be the timing chain tensioner or the pulley, just wanting to get more advice. Thanks!

I have 180,000 on my '05 Type-S. I have been getting P1009 CEL off-and-on. It has new Mobil-1 oil and Honda oil filter. I have changed both solenoids. Now people have been recommending that I change the TCT and the chain. Video attached. I need recommendations.. I know that it is noisy... Thanks!

While handling the timing chain tensioner the pin I was using fell out and the sprocket fully extended. How do you reset or compress the tensioner? On YouTube, I have seen people reset tensioners for other cars using a screw driver.

I hate this job. Follow instructions, damn pin falls out. Took an hour to get it compressed to get it out. It jumped 4 or 5 teeth, so off comes the valve cover--started hard as dummy me missed a bolt. What sucks is it all seems lined up, you snap the tensioner and find out different. Cams...

While tearing down this monstrosity of a mess that is this K20A2 I bought, I have a few issues with some bolts. The Hex bolt in the head that holds the rear guide is stripped. My first initial thought was stuffing the biggest extractor into the 6mm hole and giving it hell, but im afraid that due...

  8. Problems & Solutions RSX
Hey everyone. So I'm in the middle of doing a timing chain job for my Type S. Was all going decent until I couldn't get the hex head bolt out for the left timing chain guide. Allen key felt loose at first but would still hold. Bolt would not come loose with any amount of pressure. Ended up...

Recently bought an 04 RSX Type S. Was told it likely needed a timing chain and wasn?t told much else. Guy bought it as it is now and ?didn?t have time to fix it? and resold it and I bought it. He also sold it to me without an ECU unbeknownst to me but that?s another story. I?ve since bought a...

So back in July I bought a used RSX. Was told it needed a new timing chain, and not told much else. After having it home and finally getting around to it a few months later, I realized it didn't come with an ECU either (news to me). Long story short, I bought a Kpro v4. The issue I'm now...

Hey guys. Ive got a fully built k20z1 for boost. I'm just getting a few things wrapped up here and my machinist needs me to get a new timing chain and tensioner. Just wondering if there's an after market timing chain and tensioner that would work better than oem.

I'm confident my VTC actuator has gone bad. On cold starts she fires up and then within 30 seconds she does a quick grind from the timing side. The grind comes quick and then it's gone never to be heard from again. But at low idle or bogging it can sometimes grind again. Anyways, my real...

I have a k20a3 and I'm planning on swapping in the a2 cams, rockers, and valve train. I saw a few threads that mentioned replacing the Timing Chain Tensioner with aftermarket cams. Yes, I know I don't technically have aftermarket cams but I have native cams to the a3 head. Should I purchase an...

I hastily tightened these 2 bolts by hand then closed everything up. This is in a K24A1 CRV. Engine been running normal after a couple hundred miles. It should be 16 ft/lbs. How critical is the torque? It is securing the bearing cap right at the chain wheels. Should I do over? Such a pain.
  15. Problems & Solutions RSX
I hastily tightened these 2 bolts without using a torque wrench. Supposed to be tightened to 16 ft/lbs but I probably went over. It's in a K24A1 CRV. Engine runs normally. Being right next to the chain wheels I thought these might be critical. Will I need to do over or leave it ok?

Hopefully this isn't a stupid question, but here we go. I was just wondering if I need to do anything before I change out the timing chain tensioner cover with the K-Series cover? I'm changing it because I believe its leaking oil and well it was relatively cheap and simple.

Hey guys, so my motor jumped timing this morning, so i will be needing to replace my timing chain and its components. I have a few questions regarding this. 1. Are timing chain kits such as http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=2561416&cc=1432639&jsn=394 this one okay? 2. Is it best to...
