I just got my radar detector and i was wondering if anyone knew how to hardwire the passport 8500. My brother wired his in around the lights in the ceiling of the car on his BMW... curious as to whether we could do the same. Thanks in advance.

i didn't do anything to my car, but i definitely hit a major obstacle. My original plan was to run the positive wire into the fusebox by crimping on a wiretap. Ah, but after chopping off the lighter adapter and stripping back the wire, the gauge of the two leads are sooo small i can't see...
