Did some research and just wanted to share. Mainly covering the dampener assembles. Knuckles and LCAs differences are another story. Let me know if I missed anything or if something is wrong.

All years-
200X Base VS 200X type-S front springs and all dampeners are different. The only difference are front spring rates and damping rates. For example, 2002 base shares only one part number with the a 2002 type S, the rear spring. Both front and rear dampener assemblies of a 2002 base are the same dimensions as 2002 type s.

Early 2002 vs late 2002-2004

Pre 2002 VIN # 2C003184 (Pre) front struts and knuckles are different from 2002 2C003184+ to 2004 (Post). Pre uses 14 mm strut attachments bolts and Post uses 16 mm. Which means the front strut assemblies between Pre and Post cannot be interchanged properly without modifications. *05-06 are 16 mm.

Late 2002-2004 vs 2005-2006
Late 02-04 front struts and springs are different from 05-06. 05-06 springs and struts spring seats are wound differently.

Swap info
-All parts from 02-06 rear dampener assemblies are interchangeable without modification.
-All parts from late 02-04 font dampener assemblies are interchangeable without modification.
-The whole front strut assembly must be used to swap from a late 02-04 to a 05-06, and vice versa.

I'm trying to understand this I have tien front struts and coil springs from a 2002 civic ex will they fit on my 2003 rsx type s?
I don't know the answer to this question. I have a 2002 bone stock Type S, all original. It needs serious upgrades on all major areas, and I am asking for any and all suggestions. Ease of installation and quality of replacement parts would be helpful, as the car has all original parts. Shocks/struts, complete clutch and transmission, and exhaust upgrades to start, will sort out as you send them to me. Thanks much Club RSx
