Any opinions on the new Toyota GR86/Subaru BRZ?

i’m looking at the advantages. Rear-wheel drive, 28 more HP and greater torque while not too much difference in curb weight. I gotta believe the GR86 handles at least a little better than the RSX because of boxer-type engine and 53-47 weight distribution. Still I am going to miss my ‘06 Type S. It’s been a great car for past 15 years.

It appears the Toyota will be the sharper and more playful car, whereas the Subaru BRZ will be a potentially more mature option, that's better during the nine-to-five grind, on the road. I really like these cars and have a 2013 FRS. But I have to say, the interior of 2022 still looks about 5 years behind the times. Difficult to understand…

Fully agree on the interior. All the reviews say the interior had been upgraded. But I really don’t see it.

Why are you selling the RSX?
The new brz/gr86 honestly looks like a great bargain sporty car. They did a lot of things right including that basic interior. I prefer no frills sporty cars. I don’t want to buy a drivers car only to be distracted by excessive interior nonsense. The new si seems like it got a bit better and more in touch with Hondas roots compared to the last generation. However, I’m still not a fan of dit 4 bangers. They just feel lackluster and soulless to me. It’s all subjective at the end of the day and dependent on individual wants and needs.

it will be 16 years old in July. While everything on the car is original including clutch and even the exhaust system. All I have replaced are tires and brakes. But I figure at almost 120K miles things are going to start going wrong. Crowding 72 years old this is probably the last car I will.get for myself.

if they made an RSX Type S I’d probably buy it. One of the best, most fun cars I ever had.

I wouldn't sell it, I would just drive it less or keep it in storage and sell it on a rainy day. Prices for the DC2 are going up, its only a matter of time before the DC5 does as well.

Or just do what I plan to do, wait until they release the new Integra and keep both cars 😁
