no way.....I have 245's on a 7.5 17 in rim and thats the smallest rim it will fir on. not to mention you have less sidewall to work with.

your forgetting a very important part, yes the 245 will fit fine on a 8 wide wheel, no worries there, your problem is your sidewall height, 245/45/18 is going to be a very tall tire, more than likely will be rubbing alot even at stock ride height, and if you have stock struts will probly not even fit due to spring perch interference

just looked up the diameter of the stock vs 245/45/18:

stock 2005-2006 tire 215/45/17 - 24.6" dia.
245/45/18 - 26.6" dia.

that would def not fit onto car with stock struts, and would rub like hell on one with coilovers im sure

it would fit but the speedo would be off a few mph.......also acceleration would be significantly effected due to the increased tire dia. not a good choice of tire/rim combo

trust me, it wont fit, just because the diameter would clear the fenders at stock height, it would still contact suspension parts, if you notice on your stock front strut the lower spring seat on it overhangs over top of the tire, there is not enough room there to allow another inch of tire without rubbing

In addition to what mfarmakas said, we probably shouldn't compare tire fitment on an SUV to that on a sporty car. Most SUVs have their tires sized to produce a good amount of sidewall bulge and to be taller than the tires on a car. As was stated, a 245/45 or 245/35 (which is what I have) will fit just fine on an 18" x 8" width wheel...sidewall won't be excessive, nor will it be stretched.
