So how were the lights getting power? were you not using a harness? My driver side turns on everytime w/o fail, but pass side will flicker for a while and turn on. Im just going to get a new harness.

The harness connects it directly to the battery, was it the fuse in the harness that was Blown. The two wires that plug into one of the OEM wires is for the signal to turn on the lights, is that also where the OEM lights get power. Maybe my harness is broken and it is trying to pull power from this one side? Does that make sense at all?

Anyone used these or know if they are worth it or should I get the regular harness that comes with most sets. http://www.theretrofitsource.com/product_info.php?cPath=28&products_id=167

I am not using a harness. I have the ballasts wired to the engine harness then clipped to the bulbs after. I think the ballast was holding a little power, just enough to make it flicker. but the fuse that was blown was the fuse inside my fuse box in the engine bay.

Xtreme HID Wire Harnesses use relays that are completely sealed. You can literally submerge them in water =)

The harnesses are also completely independent of one another so if you need to replace only one side you can.

Ok so you need 2 harnesses. One for each side?

where is all of that?
Well your going to most likely have to pull the bumper off unless all the wiring was conveniently extended up into the engine bay. In order to check everything you are pretty much act like you are installing it yourself and check all the connections. I would start with the ground, power wire, and fuses. It could be as simple as one of them is unhooked. Or it could be there are no HID bulbs or ballasts if the previous owner took them out. It could be anything since you do not know the history of the car. Check what you can but you may need to start pulling off the bumper and looking at everything to make sure everything is wired correctly and is there and working.

Just make sure you do not get any of the components from the headlight HIDs confused with the fog HIDs. They would be running on completely different ballasts, and a different power/ground wires as well.

Someone Please Help Me!

Okay so I kinda have a big problem here, and don't even know where to start on fixing it. As of right now I have 1 low beam HID working (driver side), and one HID foglight working (aftermarket, and passenger side) This all happened kind of randomly, the only thing I can think of that would have some sort of impact on this is i washed the car earlier today. First thing i noticed was that my high beam bulbs were on with my lowbeams, when i didnt have the hi beams actually turned on, but the hi beams were dim, and brightened up when i turned the brights on. Then i noticed when I turned the fog light switch on, the passenger foglight came on fine, but the driver side flashed on real quick then turned off. Sometimes it doesnt flash at all. I have 1 relay on the foglights, I got them on ebay and it came with the foglights, hids, relay and all that good stuff.. but now im just so confused I dont even know where to start. All these problems just seemed to hit me at one time, no I just need someone to get me pointed in the right direction if they can please! thanks in advance.

I assume you checked fuses, though that does not really sound like the problem. If I were you I would check the grounds and where you hooked up power. If they look good take off the front bumper and trace each and every line for all of the HIDs. The signals are obviously crossed, so make sure you check all the relays and inline fuses as well.

You did use a HID harness for the Low and Fog light HID kits. What type of high beams are you running... bi-xenon, separate halogen High beams, or separate HID high beams?

Does your fog light relay harness have 2 separate grounds (one for each side) or do you only use one ground for both? I don't think that the issue would be the relay as if you only have one relay then both sides would be flashing of failing simultaneously.

Didn't receive the free modded x-clips

Hi,

That is correct. Make sure to type in "CRSXHU" as the coupon code to save $25 and get your free x clips.

Steve
Steve,

I used the coupon code as this old thread indicated. I got the $25 off but I did not receive the free x-clips. I got this kit for my son for Christmas. I really don't want to modify the OEM clips.
