Hello Fam,
This is a long story so I will try to stick to the basics.
I did a k24/k20 swap in my car, painted the bay, installed a new wireworx wire harness among other things (roughly a year and a half ago now). Ever since this I have had a weird electrical problem that I have not been able to figure out so let's see how much you guys know. I had an Odyssey battery that was on it's last string. I replaced it with a friends battery. I recently replaced that battery due to an abnormal expanding (like it was going to blow up). The car would die overnight. After putting a new battery I tested for a parasitic drain and nothing (the car does start right up now). I have replaced all engine grounds with a thick grounding kit and checked my main grounds 100 times (thought maybe the paint was causing a bad ground). I do have an aftermarket steering wheel with nrg shorthub and quick release and the rest of the car is far from stock.
What I've Learned:
-I've tested for a parasitic drain and found nothing
-After turning key to Acc II and then switching key back off, door light and oil light have a faint glow
-When I pull the backup fuse #9 (under hood), the door light goes out but the oil light remains on and the brake light comes on
-There is a 10.4 ohm resistance on backup fuse #9 (but draws no amperage) with 0.2 on all others
-The temp and fuel guage are pulled down passed red bar when the key shuts off like something is drawing them down
-Guage wiring diagram attached below
-I have tested my guage and it resets the needles to "0" but when I turn the key off they draw back down
-When I put gas in my car it takes forever for the needle to go up to where it should be but does not take forever when turning key on (only when adding fuel)
-When I unplug the electrical harness from the connector that ties into the engine harness the lights go away (probably normal)
Here is where it gets weird:
-After turning the key on and off (glowing lights on), two clicks down (second speed) on windshield wipers or pushing windshield wiper lever up to spray windshield washer fluid turns the lights off and click noise is heard like a relay is closing
-Below is the wiring diagram for the wipers. It looks like the second speed and mist controls share the same circuit
Who ever can figure out the solution to this is a true electrical god :iptf::1punch:
