Okay...so it seems Honda is trying to tweek their ratings by going with 5W20 oil on the base and premium RSX.

Anyone out there with the 160 HP engine tried switching to 5W30? Is there any noticeable difference in engine smoothness or fuel economy?

I use 5w30 all the time...

5w20 is too expensive, and I don't feel/notice any difference between the two.

then again, Honda designed the engine, so they probably know what's best...

I heard that 5w20 is just to improve MPG, but don't quote me on that....

yep, i just did some research....

"No. You do not need to use a 5w20 oil. The only reason 5w20 was specified for your engine is to increase the CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) reported to the Federal Government. CAFE is the combined average fuel economy of all of a vehicle manufacturer's product line"
