Ok, so genuine Hondabond is $16 per tube... The Red RTV from AutoZone is $6/tube....

What's the difference? Is the Hondabond special? The only reason I ask I guess is because the owners manuals always say "only use genuine honda fluids...", be it oil, mtf, atf or even windshield washer fluid!!! I just feel like Honda wants me to spend all my money on them....

Some clarification please.

Honda bond is seriously one of the greatest sealants. I use it all the time. It is a great sealant and I wouldn't cheap out or use anything else.

The thing I like about Hondabond is that it incorporates some type of solvent in it. The surface can still have some residual oil and it will bond through that. In other words, it is a lot more forgiving than your normal RTV's about surface prep.

Ok. I think that's what I needed to hear. I've already dropped $1G already, no sense in skimping now. I want to get this diff in, get this clutch installed and be done with it.
