A-spec "Strut?"

630 Views 9 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  dudelikeduck
I got in a little accident; someone hit me. The shop found out that the strut would also need to be replaced; the spring was fine. I didn't get into too many details, I need to wait for the adjuster to come back to the shop. Now, when strut is mentioned, does that mean the shock too? I'm a little confused. Also, where can I find a A-spec front driver strut? Part Number?

Thanks!

BTW, This is what I've found so far: http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray...5=FRONT+SHOCK+ABSORBER&ListAll=All&vinsrch=no

wtf @ these prices

look in the part out threads man
I'm just confused by the meaning of "strut." Does that imply the shock itself has to be replaced, or is the shock itself part of that larger metal assembly which houses the shock? I just need a little insight, please. Since I have the A-spec suspension, do I need a special type of strut? (Yeah, I know that A-spec shocks and spring are obviously difference.)

Thanks.
The strut consists of the housing and the shock, they are a unit. Only the spring is separate piece.

That is exactly the answer that I needed; thanks!
ya make sure you get a-spec struts... if they even sell it without the spring.

Yeah, definitely. Otherwise, the shock will just blow. I hope Acura can get me just one, and I hope that the appraiser can get a price. I hate accidents; it wasn't even my fault.
Does acura sell the aspec struts individually...

Fuck, that's what I'm hoping. I remember finding a thread that someone ordered a single strut from Acura of Escondido, shipped to Canada for $200. So, maybe they can send me one, I am not sure about a local dealership.
