you're gonna have to pop it out, you're gonna have them at stores there, where we're not ( in indiana ) i went to all the auto shops and autozone was the only one that had the bulb, but i wanted a blue one

It is 31mm if you order anything online. They also call it the short dome. You can go here http://www.lightingresearch.com they have a lot of LED dome lights.:thumbsup:

uhh, when holding mine up to the short dome, the short dome is still 50% longer.

I used transparent paint on the dome cover. Looks a lot better :thumbsup:

As for the bulb size, I used bulbs with the number "3022" for a while and they worked fine. It's just that the colored ones didn't work very well at all.

How does that a bad idea?
Its stealth and only lights up when its on, unlike the cover where it probably looks like a big red rectangle that stands out.
And its not that hard to repaint it when it starts to fade.

using a "sharpie" for any mod is a bad idea. you've seen that commerical too many times. :shakehea: use some film or something, i'm still content that i'll find a right bulb around here........eventually.
