I would not, if you have a broken tranny get it rebuilt by a reputable person.
buying transmissions from ebay
bare with me. I know this sound like a dumb @$$ question. I just need a second opinion on this. is it wise to buy a tranny from eBay? besides feedback, what else should consider before buying it?

The old saying "Buyer Beware". You already know your transmission's history. Use the money to have yours rebuilt the way you have always wanted.
Its unfortunately luck of the draw. I got a great K20Z3 trans off of ebay, but I wasn't really concerned about the condition because I was going to rip it apart anyway.
Try your local junkyard first. They usually offer a warranty.
