my friend bought some kid's wheels for 75 bucks, because they were basically scrap, and they were curbed up real bad. well, upon taking off the tires, we saw that there was a huge gash like right on the lip of the wheel, which is probably why the kid always lost air pressure in that tire. we are trying JB weld right now to work. any other ideas?

I would not even consider JB Weld or Bondo on an area that contacts the tire.

You could call around some shops in the area that weld aluminum and have them weld some material back in there. Then you just have to smooth it out.
