i'd really like to rebuild my clock spring instead purchasing a new one. i'm proficient with a soldering iron, i just rebuilt my turn signal switch by completely disassembling the plastic housing, got the turn signal going. 👍 however my horn isn't working. not trying to spend 100+ on a new to me (used ebay) clock spring when it could possibly go out again. as far as i tell there is white plastic circle ring on the back of the clock spring that some how holds the unit together. i've only seen one youtube video where the guy some how with just his bare hands removes it. i've tried several times to remove it without any luck,

the video i'm referencing

made a little video myself,

It's been awhile but there are tabs that pop with a screwdriver. So dude might have used his fingernails, or had it prepped to go. Keep in mind there's airbag and other wiring that's pretty pertanant in there. The horn as I recall was usually a short 1" post with one wire and a small spring loaded 3mm nub on the end. It simply grounds out and there's your horn. It's push and twist to remove. It's been a minute since I worked for those used car guys and was fixing every stupid thing you could imagine. Just unplug every yellow connector befor you dig in. This is pretty weak I know. Best I can do on a sunday.
