So I'm having a strange problem with my 04 type s that has 225k on it. The clutch has less then 5k on it the previous owner had it installed at a Toyota dealership I know the tech who did it. On to the problem so the clutch is slipping badly from start to about 4200rpm then it dosent slip and pulls all the way to red line I can drive it just have to use very little gas like toe in amount other wise it slips but if I get it above 4200 then it's all fine and dandy. The only thing I have done since I bought the car was change the trans fluid I put honda mtf back in it that's when all my problems started.
There is a fluid leak but I think it's coming from the steering rack
It's a spec stage 2+ clutch by the way.
Any help would be nice thank you.
Also only mod is a cold air intake other wise stock

verify what's leaking. Spec clutch is one of the best. Does it engage smooth or grabby?

check your clutch master cylinder, if not upgraded, it may not be able to handle the stage 2 clutch...I put in a stage 1 and MC was leaking (look under carpet behind clutch pedal) ...I got k-tuned from kseriesparts, they have a kit that includes MC SC & cable. There’s also a thread(s?) on using the 2001 Honda Civic MC.

If not, I’m also wondering about the flywheel, if it wasn’t replaced, that many miles, it may not be a good match for the stage 2 clutch.
