It's not just the turbo that cuts down the time on a 1/4 mile... but it does make a difference.
What would be better for a 1/4 mile run Turbo or Supercharger? :driving:
Then again, a lot of us don't race our cars everyday, but when the opportunity arises, we like to go for it, So what would be better for an person who works - goes to school - basic daily life; to have a Turbo or a Supercharger :questionm

Supercharger uses the drive belt to ram air into your engine. Turbocharger uses your exhaust to force air into your engine. Similar gains, but superchargers tend to have a more linear power curve. Turbo kind of kicks you in the butt at a certain point on your tach.

IMO, a turbo would be better in your situation. A turbo is not spooled up while driving at a normal pace. The turbo has too spool up, and in order to get it to spool up fully, you have to get on the gas, whereas the supercharger is always ready to go, and it is always pumping air into the engine!

Youll get better gas mileage with a turbo since your not boosting all the time, and it isnt as harsh on the engine for the same reason!
