subject basically says it... i've seen the pics of the comptech ss, and it looks "loosely" similar in size comparison to the Eaton on the CobaltSS. anybody heard of getting one on an RSX. the 06 Cobalt i think is shooting 15psi, which is more than overkill for an unbuilt motor... i've thought about getting a job soon at a chevy dealership which would get the employee discount, and i'm thinking WAY long term if this would even be conceivable....

So, you're asking if a Comptech SC from a Cobalt would work on an RSX?

I don't think so bud.

meaning i'm newbish or i sound like i actually know something... i'll be the first to admit when it comes to an import i know jack s#%!. i've modded a good bit on the firebird but claim to be no expert. i don't know much at all.. that's why i'm here to gain experience and knowledge from people who already made mistakes and asked questions... hope i don't get too much hate...

thanks for answering just the same...

it's the same M62 blower. what's yer point? it ain't gonna fit on the rsx unless you fab a new housing. and a manifold. if u looked at the cobalt supercharger and compared it with a JRSC or a CTSC, u'd see that the housing is nowhere close to fitting into the RSX.

Does the cobalt sc have the new cooling tubes used in the s/c caddy's to cool the charge?

I posted a long time ago, the cooling tubes are made in sweden and seem like a pretty nice way to cool a s/c 's charge rather than using a standard core which seems to seriously impede air flow

I think he means will the blower just the blower part in the Colbalt work in the RSX. The answer is yes because it's the same M62 Eaton blower.

Comptech = M62
Jackson Racing = M62 Although Jackson renamed it (J62)
Colbalt SS = M62

:deadhorse

The Colbalt has a built bottom end and cams made for boost. It's running 12 PSI. I think it can run more PSI because it has a lower RPM range than the RSX.

i stand corrected on the psi... 12 is correct.. for some reason i thought i'd read the new ones had 15.

yeah, i was referring to the blower, but in retrospect who sells just a housing?

You all forget why the K20A2 doesn't boost as much. It doesn't need too. The head design between the Cobalt and RSX is like night and day. The A2 head flows much better than the Cobalt, that is why it pushes 12psi stock. Pound for pound of boost the K20 will out perform the Cobalt. It's about the Hustle 'N Flow. I am not back, but caught a break with the internet for a few hours.

Magnuson sells all the parts for the blowers.

Sonny! Nice to see you back

I saw a add in the paper last night for the cobalt and had to laugh
Its headline was sincere apologies to Acura and Toyota. Comparing HP and stuff on the base models.

I really think there doing something wrong...

Cobalt SS with 12psi 205HP
RSX S stock with 200 HP
RSX S with 12psi like 310 WHP

I like GM because there trucks are awesome, but I think they need to step there cars up a little.

Yes, the Cobalt SS has the Laminova intercooler tubes built into the manifold.

The SC might work, but the inlet of it is very different than the RSX.
