Okay guys/gals it's a long way til spring. At least for most of us. Imagination is the only thing we got to hold us over unless we want to freeze our asses off.

Here's your assignment. Describe your favorite ride. Anything goes. It could be:
Your favorite (imaginary or real) bike.
Your favorite route or ride i.e. canyon, desert, beach, mountain, river, etc.
A perfect ride day, either climate or situation, time of day, time of year, etc.
Perfect circumstances: with a loved one, group ride, destination ride, etc.

Be creative, use descriptive language, pix okay but take us there in words.

I'll go first.

My favorite ride is a scenic drive cut into the cliffs of the new jersey palisades. It runs the lenght of the cliffs, rising high above the Hudson river and then dipping down near the river's shore. There are crashing waterfalls and views of the jagged cliffs reaching up to the sky. The road has no lights, no regular traffic, no intersections, and no guard rails. The worse (and most possible) thing that could happen on a bike is riding too fast around a turn and literally riding off the cliffs. The entire route is cut out of thick woods with hiking trails and wild life. I see deer, eagles, hawks, and wild turkeys along with baby chipmunks. In the fall the trees are ablaze with autumn colors. It takes my breathe away and makes all things right in the universe. There is also a climate difference by at least 10 degs. Making a cooler ride in the sticky Jersey summers.

The route ends as I ride under the majestic George Washington Bridge that leads to Manhattan. Then I turn around and do the whole loop again. The entire ride takes me about an hour and half. I ride it at least six times a week.

I live five minutes by back roads to this road. I firmly beleive that if it were not for this road I would have not continued to ride for over three decades.

Okay now it's your turn. Feel free to post more than once on different types of rides. I'll be back to describe the experience of riding on my Kawaski Vulcan Classic.

Best rides I have are always by myself.
I love the flippin twisties and to me scenery is beautiful but I could ride all day without cool sights.
My favorite ride would be with any 600cc or 1000cc don't care I'll have fun with both. Mid-ohio road course would be fun but pretty much any twisty road I could get familiar with fairly quickly would be the best.

Great pix. Sounds like a day to remember.

I myself have never did a group my ride in my life. I just get on the bike on ride.

Maybe this year I'll give a group a try. Just don't seem to fit in. I tease the Harley's guy, I never ride on the back, and I'm not a ****. LOL.

I live in Fargo ND which is a cold baron wasteland. There are no hills and barely any curves.

My dream ride would be to take a bike roadtrip to North Carolina. Spend maybe a month or two so I can take back roads, take my time, and just enjoy the ride. My final destination would of course be The tale of the dragon.

Watch out for the troopers and Hillybillies if you go NC.

Is this a stupid question? what is tale of the dragon?

Still too far for me. I'm a wimp these days. Besides, April 20th is rain gear riding weather. And in keeping with this thread - Rain def. does not make a favorite ride.

Yep that's it. It's called River Drive I think. As opposed to River Road which is the regular traffic road that runs parrallel to it.

If you go down to the bottom there's the Alpine Boat basin. And there are two other boat docks. It's really a great place for a car meet with pictures. My husband Mustclime from ephatch has been trying to get his crew to do a meet there. But it's better on a bike.
