Dry carbon only

I'm not looking for the "best" or "lightest" all I'm looking for is a list of companies that produce dry carbon products (hoods in particular) for the RSX. Opinions from anyone that owns any are welcome

no companies directly offer dry carbon hoods for the rsx. j's has a dry carbon wing. that's about it. i know my pricing is like $1900, for just the j's dry carbon wing.

if you want dry carbon product, you should contact first molding, j's, etc... and have them custom order/make you a dry carbon hood. they all source their products to a few top notch jdm cf companies. you'll be also paying top dollar.

if you have the money, they can do it.
I sure hope you're not right :noes: I am not willing to pay for custom made stuff.

Then dry carbon is not for you.

I don't know of a company who makes anything dry for the RSX. Even if they did, you'd be paying over $1500 for it.
$1500 is fine you obviously mis-read my post. Here I will write it differently for you "I'm not willing to pay for a custom made dry carbon hood".

You mis-read my post, nobody makes a "dry" hood for the RSX anyways.

There are companies who offer better alternatives then Seibon, Vis, Etc., by offering a vacuum bagged hood. Most Japanese manufactures use vacuum bagging. I would assume Mugen, Jun, etc all use vacuum bagging, which when done right can be a better then Dry carbon.

You might want to consider one of those.

How did I when I didn't even mention anything about someone actually making one. I think you need to go through and read my post all over again, paying particular attention to the first ;) All I want is a list of companies that make some stuff in dry carbon. If you can't help me out anymore than telling me I can't afford it if I don't want it special made then STFU.

re-read my last post since I added while you were posting. Consider some other alternatives since there is no dry pre-preg carbon hood for the RSX. There are many forms of "Dry" carbon, most consider resin infused vacuum bagging as "dry" carbon.

I'm not trying to be a dick, just trying to help.

My bad  it's early and I'm still a little cranky.

Thanks for the info and this almost dry carbon sounds pretty good. Is the Spoon hood the same? I know that dry carbon hoods are around 5'ish pounds depending on the car. So what would these weigh in at aporx.?

5lbs is a stretch. I've never dealt with pre-preg RSX hoods, but I have with the 350z. Here's the break down for comparison on the 350z weights.

Seibon pre-preg dry hood- 10.4lbs - $1800
Matergrade resin infused hood- 12.3lbs - $1200
Seibon wet hand laid (normal Seibon hood)- 21.1lbs- $600

I included pricing, becase the weights tend to be in-line as far as princing as well. I would suggest trying to contact the manufactues like J's, Buddy Club, etc and just ask how there hoods are constructed.
Good info, just what I needed!

I am right, trust me. If you looked at my car/spec list, I spared no money on getting top notch quality parts and custom dry carbon work is well outside my budget.
C-west makes a shit load of dry carbon parts for the S2k. You can try calling them up to see if they're willing to custom order/make you some parts. Not sure if C-west USA will help since they're merely a distributor. I'd talk to C-West Japan and see if they can work something out.

Keep in mind that money talks. Most companies will just completely disregard you unless you pretty much convey that you have money in hand and willing to pay for it if they're willing to do this. (i.e. you have a few grand laying around, minimum).
im sure youll find one, your in the infamous crew

Hey now, we are both in the Spoon brother hood. Don't let the fact that I'm in Infamous seperate us now ;)

Thanks for your help. I think I will just go with a resin infused hood, Prob. Spoon.

I would but the 3K they would want does not sound like a good deal. I guess I'm not as dedicated as I thought

Try the 45k+ Amuse dry 350z widebody.

We just made a resin infused carbon M3 widebody for $20k, and pre-sold 6 kits already. Some people aren't afraid to spend, thas for sure.
