Dyno - Mugen header/intake/kpro

I got my car tuned today at Colletti Motorsports in Dayton, Ohio, by Rick Williams. Mods are in signature. The car peaked at 190whp, and about 146wtq. The tune only netted 2 peak hp, but gained power/torque almost throughout the entire rpm range. The green line is the baseline and the red is the final pull. You can see on the baseline there was quite a big dip in torque at 4600-4700 rpms. He was able to smooth that out by moving vtec crossover up to about 5100. Nevermind the bump at 7200, that was just the dyno teasing my car. I know a cai and exhaust would push it real close to 200 peak, but peak power doesn't tell the whole story. I'm ok with the numbers. I was hoping for more but wasn't expecting much else since it was on a dynojet which typically will read lower than a dynapack. Its a decent jump when compared to what a stock type s puts down. With out further delay, here are the graphs. Enjoy :)

Your graph shows a peak of 172. What exhaust are you using? Your Sig does not seem to mention one. 190whp on a dynojet is pretty similar to what the Mugen Ep3 King Motor Sports put down. Except they had the Mugen airbox, exhaust, and ecu instead of the exhaust manifold. Glad you're satisfied with the results!
lol, its the little dot is marked at 172, but if you look further, the line goes all the way to 190. Its okay, i fell for it too...HAHAHA

190 is still way way low
The tuner needs more practice
I dont think the tuner needs more practice, but the supporting mods to let k-pro and the right tune do the job. If he had a CAI, i'd pretty much say he'd net power everywhere with just another standard a/f tune

Sweetchuck, did he do a composite cam angle map? Because the tq to fall off from the beginning and then the pick up does not seem right
If u want I'll post my dyno and you'll see......

That tuner needs practice.

hes right the tunner sucks i dont think he tuned it at all

Oh yeah I forgot that's the mark the biggest gain in the band.

Post a calibration so maybe the others can help you out?
That's a shady lookin power curve. What are your AFRs lookin like?
Are you sure you have a Type-S motor under the hood? Any rabbits under there. I think something is wrong. I don't know, I'm no expert, but I thought it should be about 200?
Mugen header does have a cat....

I don't think he did. He started with the map that you helped me with and it put out a baseline of 188. He tried playing with cam angels up top, but ended up losing some power and torque at first. I also thought it didn't seem right that the torque drops off like that below vtec. When I get my laptop back up and running, I will get a datalog of what is going on.

Please post yours, and calibration.

I will post it up later.
i dont think that the tuner is bad, the supporting mods are not enough.

1) a cold air intake will add 10 whp
2) mugen header does have a cat, so 200 whp with cat is pretty good in some dynos.
3) the most effective way to check the mods and tune is to datalog times, ie 35-100 with one gear, so you will know for sure if there are improvements. Or you need to go and have a 0-400 test for yourself.
i can do a full composite cam tune for you and see if we can get you some more mid range, without a dyno.

Email me those before and after datalogs (original cal and my cal)

Still waiting to hear back on my laptop - batteries wont charge. But I will get the datalogs when I get it back.
