When I first bought my Type S, it had 18" Axis Speed Six rims and pretty heavy tires. Best I ever ran (two races) was a 16 flat at 88 mph. I swapped out the heavy ass rims for stock wheels/tires and installed an Injen CAI. Ran 4 times this past Saturday. After first two runs, I lowered my PSI to 28 in front. Here is how I did.....this is in Phx with ambient in the 80's and very low humidity. I believe altitude is around 1000'. This was with no weight removal and I weigh ~220 lbs.

RUN 1 RUN 2 RUN 3 RUN 4
REACTION- 0.655, 0.179, 0.144, 0.080
60' TIME- 2.639, 2.605, 2.543, 2.498
330' TIME- 6.946, 6.804, 6.697, 6.642
1/8 TIME- 10.318, 10.138, 10.034, 9.975
1/8 MPH- 72.94, 73.07, 73.54, 73.58
1000' TIME- 13.198, 13.002, 12.892, 12.83
1/4 TIME- 15.647, 15.436, 15.334, 15.269
1/4 MPH- 92.01, 93.2, 92.39, 92.5

Lower your psi to around 22-25 and get your 60ft time down and you'll be the in the 14's. People would always tell me that, and I didn't believe them until I tried, and I ran a 14.85 with 19lb wheels and only a CAI. Also next time you go try it with all the back seats, spare, sub out etc. Practice makes perfect

Thanks for the advice. I'll try the 22 PSI next time. If I can cut .2 off my 60', I should be around 15 flat or high 14's. This is fun as hell!! Especially for a 50 year old. :driving:

Haha ;) gotta start sooner or later. Good luck. If it comes down to it, a simple switch from stock tires (if you have the normal RSX stock tires) to something a bit more sticky, and you can easily knock down your time.
