So I basically got a k24a4 for free when I traded a buddy some steelies with good tires for winter. He said that he believes it spun a bearing but regardless I want to do a complete tear down and rebuild. I know that this is the weaker k24 160hp and tq but i would really like to do an all motor build.
I have some general questions in obtaining my 250+whp NA build. I want to stick with the k24 head, NO K20 head swap. So here are a few questions i have on the build.
1) For my hp goals is there any specific pistons or compression i should be shooting for? I know I can buy about any piston size and ratio but don't know what would do best.
2) I plan on getting skunk2 valve train and stage 2 cams, is there anything else that I should do to the head? Full port and Polish? Milling it at all? 3 angle valve job?
3) Intake manifold choices. PRB is the most common but i think i read an article that said the jdm civic type r was better. RRC? Any opinoins for the goals I have?
The reason I ask is I have never fully built an engine from ground up. This is my first time. Between the 27 cars I've owned I have never kept one long enough to devote so much effort and time but the EP was on my list of dream cars so this build for me is a must. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Love the site and everyone here so far. Great community we have going 8) Thanks for any imput!
