2002 base manual
When I’m driving I smell a hint of gas in the car. I pop the hood when I reach my destination and don’t smell gas anywhere. I also checked the backseat for the gas smell and nothing. I mostly smell it around the drivers side. My windows are cracked open halfway when I drive in the mornings. Where is it coming from? Is there a filter or evap under the drivers side rail? Haven’t checked the undercarriage yet. Any info will be great.

Nothing in the fuel system should be vented to the atmosphere. Possible souces of fumes could be a leaky gas cap, hole in the filler pipe or vent pipe, rotted hose on the evap system, etc. Find a shop that can smoke test the fuel tank and evap system.
