So I got the rear floor bar installed...you know, the one that the type R has in japan?

The short version: Anyone that says this doesn't make a difference is either lying or doesn't know what they are looking for.

The long version: The ass-end feels MUCH better planted to the ground...rear body roll is indeed slightly decreased (waiting to install my front strut tower bar, so it's VERY obvious that the rear is much stiffer now), and the car generally seems to handle tighter.

Conclusion: for the 35 bucks I spent on this thing, it is most definately a worthwhile upgrade. Combined with the front strut tower, these two simple mods will have definately tightned things up substantially.

It handles like a completely different car, took a little bit to get used to lol

Next suspension mod step: progress front and rear sway bars.

Next performance mod step: Either hondata or shorty/test pipe combo

I'll let you all know when I get the tower bar installed how the overall car has changed! Can't wait, should be in today!

nice! I might look into getting one.
you will definitely feel the progress rear sway bar
I LOVE the design of it...the new center mounting points...

"I've got it! Lets just make the mount a tie bar!"

Genious. Simple, I know other companies do it, but still genious.

That is the guy that I bought it off of. Great communication, fast shipping. Definately a legit seller!

lol, took me longer to move my sub box n stuff outta the way than to install it:)

Just a side note, you WILL need to trim off about an inch from that styrofoam cover that goes over your spare tire, but its no biggie...took me a total of 10 minutes from start to finish to install.

Another note, it comes with the two bolts that are needed. The mounting holes in the trunk are pre-drilled and pre-threaded, so it is literally bolt-on

Man I had to pay 100+ for mine after shipping. I didn't notice what shipping package they had planned. It's a nice bar. Honda wouldn't have put it in for no reason. I can't say I noticed significant difference cause I have the type R struts and rear sway bar before and those made a much bigger impact than this. But yes! It does do something!

Thanks to Keith DC5 I can say that there is a huge difference with the Type-R floor bar than without. No more chasis flex over bump--I could literally hear the chasis flex over my driveway hump. Through some tight turns, the rear feels much more solid and the steering has improved a little too. Look for a more in-depth review as I drive the car more.

Part 2 Mugen rear bar, ITR rear sway, and Comptech TI front tower bar. Hopefully I'll get the rigidity needed for a suspension upgrade.

Thanks Keith!!!!!

I got one of these eBay bars a while back for just under $30. My experience is very similar to firesnake's. You will feel the rear end is a little more composed than stock with this bar. It will do nothing noticeable for body roll. But will definitely control a good amount of flex.

firesnake brings up a good point though. The styrofoam has to be trimmed a little so that it seats over this bar. Nothing a box cutter or Exacto knife can't fix.

Just curious if anybody had put this in *after* upgrading to the ITR rear sway. I noticed a diff after installing my ITR rear sway, just as I'm sure you noticed a difference with the floor bar. I'm just curious how accumalitive the effect is.

Peace

I have the same thing (ITR floor bar) and I didn't notice anything. Granted, my rear sway is 1mm smaller than the ITR and I believe it's hollow instead of solid (troof??)

so this wont make a big noticable difference if you already have a rear itr sway? and i thought this rear floor bar connects from one stut point to the other strut point.. not like the pic.. or is that a different bar?

the rsx has two brackets that are already on the car, one on each strut. The bar mounts onto the brackets connecting the struts together via the stock mounts.
