Ok, well tommorow I am going to get some car cleaning products. What should i get? I am looking to get everything i would need to keep my car looking flawless inside and out. I have had my car for about a year and washed it maybe 5 times and never waxed, so my paint looks like crap and so does everything else. I am ready to spend and work on making my car look how it should. Any advice on which products i should get? thanks

are you looking to spend money on products online? or do you want to buy stuff locally from a pepboys or autozone?

okay, most of thesed products can be found at walmart, target, pepboys, autozone

meguiars nxt car soap $6

sheepskin washmitt $5 - i would by the one made by Euros, found at walmart

wheel brush $3-5

absorber - (or i would highly reccomend buying waffle weave microfiber towels online from www.pakshak.com)

mothers clay bar system or claymagic ($10-15)

mothers or meguiars pre wax cleaner ~$6.

mothers or meguiars polish ~$6.

meguiars nxt wax $15 -

assuming you have leather..... lexol leather cleaner and lexol leather conditioner - used to obviously clean and condition your leather ~$15 for both

vinylex - clean and treat vinyl and rubber (dash and doors) $6

get microfiber towels, and applicators online if you can www.pakshak.com.

i would get 6 ultra mf, 4 mf applicators, and 2 waffle weave drying towels

i am really adamant about using microfiber because it will not scratch your paint, where normal cotton would.

okay, here is the detail process
1) wash car w/ nxt soap, sheepskin washmitt. rinse. use your wheel brush and use the leftover car soap to clean wheels and tires.
2) do not dry, claybar will be next step.
3) use the claybar system w/ microfiber towels.
4) wash car w/ nxt soap, seehskin washmitt. rinse.
5) dry car with absorber or waffle weave drying towel.
6) use prewax cleaner, and apply w/ cotton or microfiber applicator
7) buff off w/ microfiber towel
8) use polish, apply w/ cotton or microfiber applicator
9) buff off w/ microfiber towel
10) apply nxt tech wax w/ yellow foam applicator ( or the one that comes w/ nxt)
11) buff off w/ microfiber towels
11) vaccum
12) clean and condition leather w/ lexol products, you can use cotton towels
13) clean and treat vinyl and rubber w/ vinylex, you can use cotton towels

please ask questions if you have any.

i would add, use the two bucket method. one with water and soap to dunk your wash mitt in, one to rinse it off after washing a portion of the car and before putting it back in the clean soap water.

You might also want to consider doing a search because everyone has their own preference in products for washing, waxing, wheel cleaning, etc. The items recommended by Justin are all great. It might serve you well to do a search though because there are a ton of really good products out there. It depends on the look, protection, etc you are going for.

Search our forums. :)

ok jstn..few more questions. to what frequency should each of these products be used? every 1 month, 2, etc. or you can use em all the same?

and i can't find a sheepskin washmitt anywhere. only wool. and we don't have any wal-marts around here. interesting how wal-mart is the biggest and profitable giants out there, but there's not a single one in nyc.
