tiny tiny bit...i wouldn't put it on..save your $
Search around. But since your a fellow ebp, i'll save you some time. The hondata IMG isn't worth the install trouble for itself alone. The results wont be noticable, atleast based on what everyone who has it has said. If you plan on upgrading to a different IM, then get one while your at it. Otherwise i don't think it's worth it.
Like which one do you think is better????
It depends on your goals, and budget.

My opinion: It does nothing. Everything under the hood gets hot, everything...
Its only really worth it if you are upgrading the im, or going sc because of the time it takes to install it.

As far as performance, I have heard a first hand account of what it does. I recently got my car tuned at a local shop. The owner of the shop has an rsx with a k20 swapped in, and is using the hondata img. While dynoing my car, the tuner noticed that my IAT's were consistently in the mid to high 90's between pulls on the dyno. He said that when he tuned the shop owner's car, the IAT never went above 84-85 degrees. As far as power goes, it is minimal, probably about 5 like hondata says. If you are changing you im, then it is definately something to consider.
you wont feel it, but it's a "fun" install
 the install wasnt too bad. and u do feel the diff if u install a cold air. its actually worse if u have a short ram and have it. also my friend bypassed some hose on my throttle body, to keep the t.b. cool. and i brought down my quater mile on those 3 things alone about .5 seconds. couldve done better but BALD tires. so i do recommend it
Don't do it unless you plan on changing you IM. I had a base and put the IMG on it and I didn't notice anything.

To my mind, the big advantage to having a thick plastic gasket is not its heat resistance quality, but its ability to cushion and conform to irregularities and dis-similar ecpansion rates between the head and the intake manifold. In other words, it is more forgiving about keeping a good seal. I also think that it is a rip-off at $45, since it's basically made of grocery bags.

Hmmmmm, my next DIY: Create your own IMG using grocery bags & a heat gun :rotfl:

I had a four-hole car spacer made out of plywood. Made by Moroso, worked great.
do what you got to do. I installed it because I enjoyed working on my car. But for sure you really dont notice a difference and people wont either unless you point it out or tell them
