It came to me as my friend explained to me the differences with CF hoods.. if the hood has hood scoops.. arent you risking the integrity of all of the parts under the hood..? Say it rains.. wont it be at higher risk to mess something up.. electrically.. or.. flooding..? I dunno.. just came to me as I almost bought a hood with scoops in it.. before I do.. wondering if it has ever happened to anyone.

Well thanks.. semi serious question but what can you do.. After I read about it I thought why wouldnt it..? Hoods are there for a reason.. *shrug* Simply a question and a "No" would have worked. Thanks

contrary to popular belief, not much in the engine bay minds getting soaking wet. with exception of battery, fusebox, intake filter.

It means more cleaning, but unless you drive under a waterfall tehre should be any problems. Some of the hoods also come with covers that you can attach to the bottom of the hood so that in the event of rain you can block the vents.
