has anyone disconnected there ecu without going through and disconnecting the immobilizer?

What? You just unplug the three plugs in the ecu then unbolt it. Why are you even touching the immobilizer? Are you switching ECU's with someone?
If your getting kpro unplug the plugs, unscrew the bolts, ship it and wait for it to return. Don't mess with the immobilizer.
