If you have to ask you shouldn't be doing this. May I suggest you pay someone to do it. :nervous:

I have to agree with everyone else, if you have to ask, then maybe you shouldn't be doing this. On the other hand, maybe you'll get lucky and everything will be OK...

I would have your buddy do it. Changing out the cams is a tedious task for those who have never done it. I would also recomend having a professional do the work.

Ask if you can watch him.....You'll learn a lot like that. And ask questions if you don't know wtf is going on......

I had a conversation on the phone with someone from King Motorsports about the Toda kit, and they said they pull the engine completely to do cams in a K. There's not enough room to work the front of the engine, like reinstalling belts and stuff. I think he was hinting at the fact that you don't HAVE to pull the engine, but it's more of a pain-in-the-ass to do cams with the engine in than it is to pull the engine.

Its' a pain to do ANY engine work with this car because it's so cramped. I broke my IM manifold cover when I was standing on the engine trying to get a bolt off the back of the block when removing the stock header... yea, I get raw with my installs; don't ever let me work on your car :D

You stood on your motor to remove the intake manifold? :firemad:

The cams arent too hard but will take a good 5-6 hours....It basically involves removing the valve cover, setting the pistons to TDC(top dead center), and making sure to tie down the timing chain......not hard but I would recommend getting a manual or someone that is knowledgeable.

Naw.. stood on the engine to remove the stock header; couldn't get enough leverage to get the bolt out without stripping it otherwize. It was dark and cold and that dayum bolt was the only thing keeping me. You think that's bad; you shoulda saw me installing my rear strut tower bar with a hacksaw blade

i called Kings abt Toda installation a while ago and they told me, too that the best way to do it is to take the engine out, and while you're at it fix up the tranny :dontknow: since im broke im not gonna do that, yet :(

maybe i should skip type r cams and go straight to Toda or some other kit next summer and do my tranny, too, .... but then i dont wanna wait.... decisions, decisions :smilemad:

I will say that this car is very cramped.....I have literally zero room from my block to my firewall because of my turbo....I wish the motor was mounted differntly
