ive seen this ad in maxim before, it is legit. but you have to think, it scrambles the radar, so if your going 5-10 mph over the speed limit your safe. now if your going say 50 in a 70 or more, the cop is gonna know you are speeding just by observing you. IMO id rather have the radar detector.

this device exists and works, but I've heard from everywhere that doesn't sell one that it's now illegal. Jamming police equipment won't ever be legal, and if it is, it won't be for long.

Worst of all, I heard from the haltom city, tx cops (talked to cop for about an hour in his car after accident waiting for tow truck) that the police know when you're using one of these badboys, which gets you in more trouble than a speeding ticket.

I have heard that rocky mountain products are crap. They claim to make you invisible to cops but they really do absolutely nothing. Go to www.radartest.com and look at the tests that they do, and then you should have a better understanding of the high quality detectors on the market right now.

Thank you. With products like this you should never beleive what the manufacturer says. Check out review sites and sites that test stuff. Best bang for your buck IMO is like the Passport SR-7 or Passport SR-X. Plus cops dont know that you are using them and they are installed very discretely. Check out some of my posts.

OK, put yourself in the shoes of a cop sitting on a corner with his radar gun. He sees you whizz past so he shoots his radar thingy at you. But there is NO reading on the radar.

Now, dont you think the cop will be SUSPICIOUS???

But then technically, if the jammer is legal, and the cop pulls you over based on suspicion, i suppose there isnt anything s/he could do

ps. why is it so cheap???

POP radar being used?

Has any one seen POP radar being used yet or fact it is being used?
This web site has details about POP.
http://www.valentine1.com/pop/

I have a V1 (with the latest up grades) and my local undercover NYS Troopers (Buffalo, NY) seem to be useing POP since I have gone past sevral speed traps and the V1 did not go off and I was lucky enough not to be the one in his line of sight and gave the person that looked like was shot with some sort of a radar gun of some sort a speeding ticket.

they take it and write down the cerial number and then give it back to you. I got a 40 dollar ticket or something using mine. I also got a ticket for going 80 in a 65 and when I went to court the cop said that he got me using the vg2 detector which is crap cuz the 8500 is supposed to be invisible to vg2 detectors...

Actually if you're going 50 in a 70, couldn't you get a ticket for going too slow?

Wow no one caught this?

first. passive radar scramblers aren't illegal. why? because they don't do shit. the only way to scramble a radar wave effectively without transmitting interferances wave is via stealth-like modifications that hide heat signature and/or deflect radar waves. a passive radar does none of that. That FM CHIRP crap they sell is just that... crap. frequency modulation for one, won't reach into the necessary frequency range of radar and for two, there's no way the FM chirp transmitter is powerfull enough to travel far enough to do dookie.

active radar jammers/scramblers transmit RF waves which cause the radar to misinterpret the return signal... mostly causing it to not register a signal at all.

Active jammers ARE illegal by the FCC!!!! Using these can get you a quick appointment with a FEDERAL Judge. anytime you broadcast a signal that is not approved by the FCC and transmitts over a certain distance, you are violating federal law.

Ive heard that the escort solo isnt the best. It works really well but the detectors with cords are better because there is a constant power supply unlike the solo. Somehow it tries to save power because there is no cord and it doesnt work as well against KA band like the 8500 and the V1. I dont exactly remember where I read this though....
