Has anyone used a hondadata intake manifold gasket? I have a aem v2 and was thinking about getting one. What type of gains can be expected? How long Was install time was it hard? Is the gasket good quality, lasts long? Anyone who used the gasket or has similiar setup please reply

install easy, gains aren't noticable, but you will notice that after long periods of driving that your car stays cooler and you keep your power instead of losing it to heat.

From what I've learned, don't get it with the V2...the V2 uses sound waves to charge the air which is what gives the gains, and if you add a IMG it throws something off....

The IMG pretty much just retains horsepower it doesn't really add horse power...just keeps it from going away. It is good for when the car heats up. I personally thought the install was a pain in the ass. took us about 5 or 6 hours +.

Hey pints, how much did you pay for the install of your JR header and welding of the cat?

The hondata IM gasket negates gains gained by the V2, not a good combination.

Nas this been proving? That sucks if it's true.

Yeah I think it was proven because it throws off the sound waves that it would normally be using to charge the air.

I`m not sure that the loss has been proven but i`m pretty sure any power lost from the combo could be regain through some tuning. ie with the k-pro. It uses osilation to create soumd waves that charge more air in when the valve are open. Supposedly the extra space from the larger gasket throws off the timing of this process. So i`m guessing you could either change the intake tubing(impractical) or chage the valve timing through the vtc function. Its all just a theory though so its yet to be tested. When iget k-pro and some dyno time i`m try it. Dont count on it being soon though, my ass is broke. I`ve spent more on legal fees related to tickets in the last 6mo than i have on mods lol :)

For total install and welding and shit it was 422 dollars. He had to go some where and have the pipe in the cat expanded and then had to get some welding done.

No one has yet to dyno before and after with the V2 and IMG. Only one user has had issues. I have the V2 and the gasket and felt gains after I installed the gasket. Even if the V2 technology was cancled with the IMG, it still has better filter placement in the engine bay and would work effectively as a standard SRI. When I raced a RSX with similar configuration as my car (with the exception that he had AEM CAI compared to my V2), I won on both occassions. That's enough proof for me that it does not hurt the car's overall performance. :driving:

Switch cars and redo the race and see who wins.

Well.. too late now. We both have more mods and they are different. Here are the mods that we both had at the time:

me - V2, Hondata IMG (I had just installed it that nite), My 18's with Nitto 555 tires

Him - AEM CAI, Hondata IMG (he helped me install mine), stock rims, short shifter

We first went from a stop.. I got the better launch (prob because of my tires, but he is a better driver) and he never cought up. I had about 1/2 car on him. His front bumper was about at my seat.

Second run was from a 20 MPH roll in first gear. First I pulled.. then he pulled, but it ended at the top of 3rd with me having the same lead. To be honest, if we woulda switched cars that nite, I think I would have lost in his car by even more (he was a better driver). My car was running soooo good that nite too.
