Is 2 quarts enough?

I'm gonna buy some Amsoil Syncromesh for my Type S, but I just wanna make sure that 2 quarts is enough. It says in my owners manual that it holds 1.6 quarts for manual, but for automatic it holds 2.9. That's a big difference.

Just wanna see if 2 quarts is really enough. All I plan on doing is drain the old, put in the new.

If its a type-s just drain it. fill it until it comes out the fill hole slightly. I believe i used close to 2 quarts on mine.
Sweet, that's what I planned on doing. Thanks man  I'm gonna order it now.

Do you think amsoil is worth it, in your opinion? I'm ordering it either way, just curious.
2 quarts are good. I used amsoil also, it's good stuff.

Np man. I purchased three to be safe and only used 2 :laughat:
Lol oh well. A little extra never hurt.

GL man.
AMSoil here also, didn't use all of 2 qts.

Amsoil is VERY worth it. Cleared up 2nd gear grinds and 3rd gear lockout for me. Not seen since *knock on wood*.
I'll be using this again, though tinkering with the idea of trying Redline.
I don't know why you are comparing manual to automatic, two completely different transmissions and different fluids. that's like comparing a mustang to a yaris

first time over haul will use a little bit over 2 quarts for me
I'd just add the 2 full quarts and then top it off with regular motor oil to save some cash if you are using the expensive stuff.
It shouldn't even hold 2 quarts, right? Since I'm just doing the drain/fill method, not flushing it out, I think it holds like 1.6 quarts then.
how many quarts do i need if i'm having my tranny rebuilt? any help
some funny stuff i bought the samething the usual guy at meineke will do it for me for 10 bucks at their shop since i got my own fluid but since it's sunday they didnt open i just wanna get it done so i went to a local individual own shop asked them how much they said 60 bucks i told'em but i got my own fluid they said that doesnt matter and i told'em i already bought 3 qt of the fluid i want to use they gave me some crap about how i need 8 for that rsx-s cuz they gotta fill their machine and went on about i need some for break fluid for steering fluid and a shit load of fluid including TORQUE FLUIDi laughed then left giving me shit about how my tranny need 8 qt to filled up some funny shit

2 quarts will cover it if the entire trans has been flushed from the rebuild. You'll use the majority of the two containers, but don't necessarily need to use it all. I think Acura calls for 1.9 quarts.

Correct. You'll use just a bit over 1.5 quarts. If you fill it to where it comes out the fill hole, you technically overfilled it, though it's not going to hurt anything physically, it will increase fluid drag a bit.
