I am about to install my itr cams,IM, and hondata-R.....

My normal mech didnt want to do it, he said the cams need to be dialed in and "degreed" and he didnt have the facilities for this.....

I know what he means and if they were some aftermarket cams I could understand, but these are oem ITR and can just be installed right in correct? I havent seen anything about degreeing ITR cams in any post here, also he was saying that I should get a new timing belt at the same time just in case....

Can anybody with the ITR setup shed some light on this......

Well since the intake cam is already adjustable, I'm not sure how you would degree it in. Plus, how do you plan on fitting a degree wheel on your crank with the motor still in the car?

Don't worry about it, just put the cams in 'straight up'.

there's an easier way, if you remove the tensioner mechanism you do not have to remove the timing cover and chain and all that.
you get your kit installed? If so, get a dyno soon so we can add it to the list of dyno's.

p.s. Everyone please do look at the sticky's in this forum and see if you can find things that we could add/edit.

peace out

mine is not installed yet I am waiting on the valvesprings. soon though. I will dyno in March when winter is over and we're back on real gas.

yea, this winter mix... argh. My MPG has gone down considerably as well. Let me know how the install goes too. I will be taking this route. What Springs are you installing? Toda, Mugen, S2K?

saved $900 on the Toda kit, no hookup just sheer luck. K20EG basically tested them out on his hybrid hatch, made 236 whp 162 wtq with custom header and ITBs, now he's putting in bigger cams and even stiffer springs, so I bought the Toda stuff off him. ECU reprogram is discounted for existing Hondata customers.

no wheel spacers they are SSR Competition 17x7.5 +42mm offset 6kg each
