I know a lot of us JRSC guys having or had problems with our belts and pulleys and a lot of time we hijacking other threads because of it, so I thought it was a good idea to start up on a thread just about jrsc belts and pulleys. The thread is not only for current jrsc peeps but also for the newbies as well so they won't get us frustrated asking the same question over and over again.

I'll start off with one question, I read around and found a member who is using a goodyear 070775 belt which is 7 rib and 77.5 inches long. I tried a dayco belt that was 77.5 long and it wasn't even anywhere close to fitting onto the 3.4 pulley. The dayco 78.9 belt fit extremely well for the purpose. What I want to know is that anyone else tried the goodyear 77.5 long on a 3.4 pulley or is it because different makers make belt a little bit different in length.

well so can someone please tell me what up with the goodyear 77.5 belt? I need to get back on the 7 rib and I don't want to order it if it doesn't fit.
Another alternative is the NAPA part # 25-070776, cost is 37.00 and it seems to be supplied by Gates so it should be a good quality unit. I will install it tomorrow and let everyone know how it goes. I just upgraded to the 7psi pulley and threw one of the ribs on the original belt. had the 5psi for a few weeks w/o a problem.

New belt is on and holding, but it seems to want to jump off the short tensioner braket pulley toward the charger even while idling. I think i need to contact JR to know when my kit was maufactured. I purchased it from Sumitt so it mught have been on thei shelve awhile, so i might need the updated pulleys, brakets?
Does anybody know the thickness of the washer/spacers that Keith from JR sends to address the alignmenet issues with the power steering pump?

Thanks

I installed the new brackets and put in 4 flat washers 5/16" (8M), 7,93mm between the alternator housing and the upper alternator bracket mount. Everything lined up perfectly.
Is that a metal idler pulley?
yey!! my redesigned tensioner, sc pulley and a new belt are on the way. any comments from those that already have this new tensioner?

damn it, so much for "redesign" the damn thing, wtf were they thinking???
has anyone spoken to Keith about this?

well the problem isn't big, you just need to use the spacer for the smaller pulley but I don't think that it's our job to do so, the tensioner should be come ready to be use, not to be modify again
What spacer are you talking about? the samller pulley doesn't bring one.

the smaller pulley doesn't have one, that's why it's off, I haven't had the setup on but if you want to use the new tensioner, u gotta compromise it, im sure the spacer will be needed.

OT: ocorzo do you ever head up to ft lauderdale or wpb or moroso? I really want to race against another JRSC RSX :)
I'm planning to but i really haven't had time off at work. Test and tune night is still Wednesdays and Fridays right?
Yeah, That does suck! I used the new braket and P/S mount but i was not able to get the 7lb pulley off so i had to use washers on the P/S. evrything lines up perfectly now.
