I didn't get a new scissor because Chris said it will just do it again. SO I got a bolt and a nut and slid the bolt in from the back and put a nut on th end of it with a lock washer. It has held up so far. I actually think it does a better job of holding it. It seems more secure to me.

Let me know how it turns out. I have a friend who can do the steel ones also. By the way I have had a lot of luck running the 6 rib belt latelt and decided to try the 7 Rib belt again. I got about 2 blocks down the road and took it up to about 6500 rpms and the belt was thrown. One more belt down the drain. Back to 6 rib I go. I wonder if Hondata will make a base map for the 5-7 PSI jackson and the 550cc injectors? If they did and put it on the K-pro I would just use that until I can get to a dyno. Aren't the kits coming with 550cc injectors now? So if you get the kit and the K-pro and don't get it tuned right away you are kind of screwed. I think Hondata should take this into consideration. Otherwise I will have to go to a 3.0 blower pulley and back to the stock crank pulley to get as close to 9 PSI as I can. This way I can still use the 9 PSI base map on the K-pro. Just venting a little. thanks.

sorry to hear that jamie. Your belt threw to the passenger or driver side of the car? About the 550cc injectors, all the new kits come with 550cc injectors I think. I'm still don't get the 16 and 12ohms issue on the injectors so I haven't decide if I really want to get the k-pro yet. I'm currently running the flash from hondata right now and it's smooth as heck but im sure the setup could be optimized with k-pro.

PS: please do me a favor and ask your friend how much would he charge for the steel scissor hand, also ask him about the bigger idler pulley, I think that would be the best alternative for using with the k-24 pulley. I think 1/2 inch bigger in diameter should do the job since the k-24 pulley is about 1/2 inch bigger than our stock pulley.

Hey campers, sorry it took so long to give you an update but I finally have one. I figured out the problem with the belts and why you guys are tossing them. The problem is the Jackson tensioner setup sucks. When you tighten it down it causing their pulley to pull out of alignement with the other pulleys. This causes the belt to run ascew, thus belt problems. In order to test the theory, I pulled my power steering and put the stock tensioner back on. Guess what, no problems and works like a charm. I could make 20lbs of boost without any problems now. I emailed Jackson about this last week and have not heard anything back. I wanted to give them first shot at working on a fix but I heard nothing. So for now, I am done with my SC, I am swaping out the motor for a turbo so that I can run in the Sport FWD class of the NHRA for the rest of the season and next season. The nice thing is that I am selling my SC setup to a local guy, so I will be able to continue to work on his car to help find the problems and see if we can come up with a good solution. Before his gets installed I am going to see if I can come up with a fix since the motor will be out of the car. So don't worry guys, I am not going anywhere on the SC front, just have to make some changes for the business side of things. Let me know what questions you guys have, I will be happy to answer them as well.

jamie I got an idea about the hole that got trip. You noticed the way they drill that hole for the allen bolt that tighten up & hold the idler pulley? Why don't we drill a hole like that for the hole that got strip and use another nut from the outside to tight it up. Instead of using Chris' idea of having the bolt sitting outside on the surface which might rub against the ilder pulley, we'll drill that hole concave into the scissor hand and find an allen bolt to use with it. That would be much cheaper than custom made a steel one IMO.

I tried to go that route actually and it is harder than you think. It takes quite a bit of tooling to make it correctly. But if you could, that would be much much better than the stock Jackson setup.

I was never really impressed with that scissor bracket, but I've found that its held up for the most part. The only problem I have is the tensioner bolt bending out toward the passenger side. Other than that, I haven't had much of a problem with it.

MIne actually bent a little too. But after I removed it from the bracket it doesn't look bent. Chris I think you are correct on the tensioner. I noticed that when running a 6 rib belt the belt is almost over the lip on the idler pulley closest to the driver side. I can only imagine how the 7 rib belt would do. But now that I think about it, how can this be a tensioner problem unless it moves when the motor is under load. I have no problems with the 7 rib belt in my driveway. It is only when I drive the damn thing that is when it throws the belt. I will swap out pulleys and see what happens. Also Chris did you ever see close to 9 PSI when you had the K24 crank only? what PSI have you seen with the 3.0" blower pulley you had made? Thanks for the help and hopefully you have more luck with the turbo. If so I might be next in line!

i've heard a lot of guys bent that bolt, how much tension do you put on the belt? By bending that bolt, the belt must be very tight?
It's currently bent and I can, with some effort, pull the belt up about a 1/2". I've already broken one tensioner bolt, this is my second. Maybe I just pull too hard on the belt to test its give... :dontknow:

I have heard that if you go to check another RSX stock belt then that tension is what ours is supposed to be. When I had mine that tight it threw the belt because it was too loose. Now I have it a little tighter and have no 6 rib belt throwing probs. 7 rib belts are still a problem though.
