Was your pulley the stock 5 psi blower pulley or a different one you put on?K20A2 said:

I'll let you know, the crank pulley isn't easy either. We used an impact gun and it didn't budge! The my buddy put a jack handle on a breaker bar to give more leverage and tried his hardest and after heating it up a little it finally broke loose. Hope fully the blower pulley is easier.

I recieved the new blower pully today along with a new belt and new idler pulleys. But them all on, spent a good 30min tensioning the belt drove about 25 MI and guess what.... no more belt :jigglemad :firemad: What am I to do?!?! JR is being real helpful but this is just bad now. That was the sixth belt (I think, hard to remember now). So all in all this is what I have done to try and resolve the belt shredding issue: Replaced the PS Pulley with JR's new one, replaced the blower pulley with JR's new one, installed ES MM inserts, replaced the entire tensioner unit including pulley. I have run out of idea's. I dont understand why some people like Sonny have been running the orig belt that came with the kit and I cant make one belt last more then a couple miles...... Keith said the next step is to send my car to JR's R&D and have them figure it out. I guess thats what I have to do but what a pain in the @$$....
The only thing that I can figure is that the hose that all you guys are talking about that comes out of the side of the engine is rubbing the belt because all my belts have shredded on the driver side. when I installed the new belt today I looked at the gap and there was probably only 1mm between that hose and the belt. What do you think?
In the mean time what 6rib belt can I get that will work with the 7psi pulley? Does anyone have the part# for the goodyear gatorback? Thnx guys

the autozone kelly springfield poly-v 6 rib x 78.5 has been getting the job done so far for me + it's affordable.

Between that warranty issue (Jackson requiring a lenghty post-mortem on a busted blower before helping the customer), the numerous accounts of shredded belts, and the apparent problems with the pulleys, I am starting to wonder if the RSX version of the JRSC is a mature product.K20A2 said:
And it really puzzles me why no one from Jackson participates in the discussions here. This board alone may generate more business for Jackson than any other place. Word of mouth, good and bad, spreads quickly. My email to the Jackson Racing Marketing rep who used to post here went unanswered.

That is exactly the problem. If you want to spend money with Jackson they are great. If you want to give them ideas on how to make money, they are great. Ask them to support their product after the fact, they are terrible. No one should be going through belts like this...conradb212 said:

Chris, I really do think that with the clout we as a large group of JRSC current and prospective owners represent, we ought to approach Jackson/Moss with this concern. As a JRSC dealer and owner of this site, you should be the pointman.
At a minimum, we should have a JR acknowledgement of the belt issue, an idea of what they intend to do about it, an acknowlegement of the product support concerns and how they intend to address them, and a willingness by Jackson to have a rep assigned to stop by here. Those are not unreasonable requests. Your site is a LARGE pool of customers and potential customers.

That is the problem how I see it right now. I gave them a head start on the problem and the solution before I said anything here, but they never got back to me. I went directly to the person that I work with at Jackson and got nothing. Hopefully something will change and with enough pressure it should...conradb212 said:

I can tell you this that I am def holding off till this is resolved. I mean granted nothing is ever perfect with cars but this is def a big fault in the product. Belts last longer then this. I mean who wants to have there car down....keep spending money on belts.....and not have any sense of reliability.

I was really looking forward to getting the JRSC in the next few months, but after reading this thread I'm starting to change my mind. I just want to get the Street kit and run it at 5psi. Would I have any problems with snapping belts? I dont' want to have problems. Granted I know I will have a couple, its just that this is my only car right now and I want to be able to drive it everyday.

luckly I havent spent a dime on this belt issue, everything has been sent to me under warranty. Last time I talked to Keith he said they can send me to their R&D shop in Westminster, CA. I wrote him a letter asking that this be done, hopefully they will find out whats wrong and fix this issue once and for all.... I can only help...
