Not seeing it I am guessing, but I don't think it is hitting. It is close but it has room all the way around with the K24 pulley. Going with a small SC pulley will only make it worse, not better.

Also, how do you know those pulleys are going to work? To me, I wouldn't trust any pulley until Jackson fixes their problem.

Didn't you have better luck with the smaller blower pulley and stock crank pulley? I thought you did?

I don't know if they will work but if yours worked when you took off the p/s pulley then that is what I'll do.

What was your problem? How did you route the belt? I am totally willing to lose power steering to get this to work. Also, did you notice that on the idler pulley the belt seems to be riding the edge on the driver side? Mine is and with a 7 rib belt it seems like it won't even have a chance.

It is not a belt problem or a pulley problem, it is a tensioner problem. The moveable tensioner pulls away from the supercharger when you tighten it down. This causes the 10mm bolt to strip out but also causes the pulley to go out of alignement when it is tightened back down. This pulley being out of alignment is what is causing many people to lose belts, not a machined pulley, in my opinion.

Nope, still tossed 2 belts with it, just took longer. My problem is not caused by it hitting that water line and I can say that most everyones isn't either. It is tight but there is enough clearence there.

Are you still going turbo or are you going to try to figure this out first? I am sick of waiting for this crap. I still don't understand why some of us have problems and some don't. And it varies so much. There are people with just the base kit and it throws belts.... then there are people with race versions that throws belts and people with the K24 crank pulley that throw belts and all of these people have their counterparts who don't throw belts. WHat the hell is going on? I know have put my thought on hold because you talked me into not getting the new pulley until they figure this out. Maybe I should have someone make a tensioner or somehow use the stock one again? You have used the stock one correct? How did that work out? Did you throw belts?

I am up in the air right now because I am not sure if we can get the turbo kit installed by mid-July for the Vegas race. Because of all of my problems, I would much rather run the turbo kit because that will get me in the 10's for sure and I won't have any belt issues to deal with.

The reason that some do and some don't really comes down to how much that pulley is skewed once everything is installed. If the moveable tensioner pulley is not that far out of alignment then you won't have any problems, if it is then you will have a ton. When I found the problem I went back to the stock one and it has worked great every since but I don't have power steering.

Forgot one thing. How did removing the p/s pulley help the tensioner work better? Did the belt not get as tight, but since it had more belt wrap it didn't need to be as tight? And could you wrap the belt and just remove the p/s and not the a/c? I know you removed both.

The power steering on the Jackson setup and the stock tensioner bolt in the same place. So you have to remove one in order to bolt in the other.

I noticed the same thing on the idler pulley. It just rides the side until I lose that rib.

Do you have to rove the whole p/s completely or just take off the tensioner and p/s pulley and put in the stock tensioner? I could probably figure it out but just want to make sure.

Well. I have had the "street" kit since October 2003, Race upgrade since same time. I have had zero problems and zero belt issues. I don't know what could be the issue. If you want, I will contact JR tomorrow and express my concern over the development of their products. My unit has been operating flawlessly so I have zero complaints against them. All I could do is offer my comtempt to them to offer the best customer service they can. I don't want to sound like a zealot, but I believe my opinions offer more than JR advertsizing (sp!). Peace.

My problem is that I want the kit so bad I can taste it. But while you have not had a problem, far too many others have, and then the horror story about the seized blower that Jackson apparently refuses to replace under warranty. Add to that the puzzling absence of any Jackson Racing presence here on this board that has so many current and prospective JRSC customers and you have to wonder if the current jackson racing has its act together.

As far as I could tell, no the header did not rattle before the cat was put on. Right after the cat was put on, it started rattling. One night a few weeks ago when we were having all the rain here, I was driving up from Austin when the rattling started up and I thought something was dreadfully wrong with my car. It scared the shit of me, but I kept driving because I was on the middle of nowhere and the noise finally died down. Then the next night in the rain on the way to work, same noise. Then it started all the time to the point I was embarraced to come to a stop at an intersection (I just kept looking straight ahead not looking at the cars around me because I know I didn't want to see the driver next to me looking like WTF). Anyways, I know this getting long :dontknow: , but I had the cat taking off and no more rattling. The techs that took off the cat said it wasn't the inside honeycomb rattling, but one of the outer edges. Man did it make a racket :firemad: . Now, I'm trying to get a replacement one, but I will still have to pay again for another one to be put in :( .
this happened to me too, and only when it rained real hard. It was freaking me out and I too thoght that there was something seriously wrong with my car. My solution was ES MM and control arm bushings, the rattle went away, and I never had a problem again. I have the Carsound Cat, BTW.
