No marks on my tensioner bracket, thats the first thing I checked. The only I can think of is when we snap the belt debre gets lodged in there and melts the pulley.

:iamwiths: my scissor bracket is fine. It's definitely the debre from one of the rib when the belt jump. There is no other explanation because no other object is around there to touch the idle pulley other than the scissor bracket holding it. I think it's long period of scraping more than melting that's causing the damage in the picture. It's like you have a very high rpm power sander.

I replaced the belt on Friday. Used up a whole gas tank this weekend mostly highway speed of around 80mph and belt is still alive and well. Still a little nervous to down shift because that's usually how I shredded my belt. Knock on wood.

Are you running the new p/s and blower pulley? IS this why you are having good luck now? Just curious.

I wanted to use the new p/s and blower pulleys but unfortunately they would throw off my alignment by almost half a centimeter. My current pulleys are Jackson Racing pulleys that were customed machined by Hondata to align properly. I think my last belt was on too tight and the one before that was on too loose. Now it seems to be ok but I just hope it would stop stretching over time. I'll try to contact Mike Chaput of JR soon to tell him what happened.

SO is this what the problem was? Jackson just doesn't seem to have their pulleys coming out right? SO someone needs ot machine them better? LEt us know what Jackson says.

Jamie
I don't have a Type S. I have a base with custom jrsc kit. That's why my pulleys needed to be machined for my car. Yours should be fine with what JR have out

Keith of JR contacted alphaSSmale (Brock) and myself today via telephone and email regarding the belt issues.

Email:
---------------------------------
The address for the shop is: M D Automotive (formerly Jackson Racing R & D) 7281 Westminster Ave. Westminster, CA 92683 / Mark Debilla. 714-891-1113

There is a plan unfolding that on Thursday, July 15th, Brock Heideman from Mission Viejo is going to be at Mark's shop in the morning to meet up with Mark Wilson and Tim Barnett from our Moss Motors R & D group in a final effort to get the problem with the pulley alignment / belt walking problem addressed and remedied once and for always. Please let me know if you can also get there. It would be great, if possible !

Thanks again and let me know. K T

I will do my best to attend this meeting along with alphaSSmale (Brock) so JR can solve this belt problem once and for all. Does anyone have any ideas, plans, or comments that they would like us to point out to JR that can possibly help fix this problem? Drawings or diagrams of any designs of tensioner or scissors you guys have in mind?
