The upper or lower alternator brackets that comes with the RSX Type S JRSC kit would have to be redesigned in order to work for the Base RSX JRSC affectively!!!
Here is why:
Picture 1
I needed to remove the alternator off the car to example the upper and lower brackets. The only way to take the alternator out of the car once the supercharger manifold has been installed on top of it is to take off the front bumper and remove the right side passenger headlight. The alternator would have to be manuvered and slide out through the empty space of the removed headlight. Taking out the wiring harness on the alternator is a bitch because space is so limited.
Picture 2
The upper alternator mount has cracked. The lower bracket can be seen once the alternator is removed. The lower bracket was installed but the two bolts holding the alternator in place had broken off. They did not unscrewed themselves, they broke across the diameter of the bolts.
HERE IS THE PROBLEM!!!
Picture 3,4,5
I followed the exact installation instruction for the alternator brackets according to the Jackson Racing install manual. New bracket that Keith sent me were installed. The alternator was bolted onto the lower bracket and sits perfectly flat. THERE IS A GAP SPACE OF ABOUT 1 CENTIMETER BETWEEN THE ALTERNATOR AND THE UPPER BRACKET MOUNT. I don't know how the previous installer of the kit managed to close the gap between the alternator and the upper bracket mount. If I force the bolt to close the gap then that would put alot of stress on the two lower bolts which might be the reason why they broke over time. The upper bolt seems to be beefier and made of a stronger material than the two lower bolts. (Using old cracked upper alternator mount as an example. Even though it's cracked the thickness should be the same as an uncracked one)
