Yes, that will be okay. The ECU will come with the standard factory tune, so you'll want to load the CAI tune for your car. You'll be amazed how great it runs with just that. There may be a bit of knock and you may run lean in some spots with the race header, but that can be fixed easily. Several of us here can help you.

You'll love the K-Pro!

What if you have a custom setup. I'm going to be going with the greddy, 650cc injectors base map. I'm running a precision sc61(similar to a t3/60-1) and rc 750 injectors. Can I just change the injectors on the greddy base map to 750 and drive? Its going to be about an hour and a half drive to my tuner. I'm thinking as long as I keep it under 3k rpms and no boost I'll be good.

You never know with those new injectors. There is a huge difference between the 12 ohms and the 16 ohms. I strongly suggest you do a datalog before you drive anywhere. Start out with a brief log just in neutral, idle, rev the engine some and see if the AF is way off. If not, take a brief drive and try to capture as much of the rev range as feels safe. I think you can briefly go into boost (briefly!). Analyze that log and see what the AF does under load. If it seems okay you can drive to the tuner. If it seems way off you need to adjust the fuel, which is easy.

Yes, there is plenty of k-pro knowlege here. Between all of us, we can get you going pretty good.

You made a good purchase, you will see. Even after tuning costs, it's still worth it's weight in gold.

How much does it cost to get the k-pro tuned?
A shop that I did my dyno on last week said they'd charge me $150/hour to tune my K-Pro. I need to find another place!

Doubt you'll find it cheaper than that, and anybody charging less probably doesnt know what he's doing.

A full proper tune will take at least a day, even a day and a half.

Peace

I dont know how far you want to drive but theres a place down in eastern PA, where i live, he tunes by setup, not by hour. For a turbo setup he charges $300. Nitrous, around $200 and naturally aspirated is around $100. Let me know.

Would two hours every couple weeks be sufficient for tuning the K-Pro? That's all I would budget out of my biweekly paycheck (biweekly sucks!) for it. I know it'd be better to save up enough for 6 hours but I am a very impatient man & if I go this route, it'll take me forever to get K-Pro. There's so many little things in the way that I wind up buying for this car. Next is Comptech's Non-Adjustable Sway/Tie Bar Combo, Ingalls Torque Damper, & I'll have to have money laying around when I finally do get charged for my Stainless Steel DCRH that i've had preorded since it first appeared in April. Plus, I need a rinky dink laptop to play with K-Pro.

wow, 100-150 an hour to tune? hopefully kingmotor would be cheaper, i heard 60-100 to tune...
Well, you probably spend a good bundle on the Greddy. Now without proper tuning you risk lsoing that investment at worst (blow-up), and won't get nearly as much hp out of it at best. With proper tuning the car will be safe to run AND will get you quite a bit of extra hp and torque. A no-brainer if you ask me.
