with hopes that u can shed some light on my issue.. i have a 2002 civic si hatch ep3 k20a3 with a bad ecu i keep getting obd2 code p1106 which stands for barmetric pressure circuit range / performance. i was told that the BAROMETRIC sensor was located inside my ecu (ecu # 37820-pnf-ao3) its a obd2Aecu. regarding this code is this true?
So i baught a used ECU for my k20 a3. now my question is does anyone know the process regarding reflashing ? like does anyone know what the dealership does that i myself or a regualar shop cant do?

also about the tps i know how to adjust it i know the volts its supposed to be on is betwen .45 volts and .50volts when checked with the multimeter but i have a issue my tps adjust between the ranges of 1.7volts and 2.3 volts it wont let me go any lower than 1.7 volts does this mean my tps is bad? does anyone know? any one have any info hit me up please... :shady:

wow. bump for a good answer.

I would say that the dealer might be the better choice for the ECU thing...they might have more knowledge on the subject. I would go to the dealer and just talk with someone and ask around for someone who might know something about it. I've done it before and spoke to different mechanics/parts and service specialists and while many of them are useless, some can be of help! Its free :weeeeeeeeee: and you may learn something useful.

02 Civic Si L4-1998cc 2.0L DOHC (i-VTEC) PGM FI

My car was idling like your describing this is what I did to fix it I cleaned the TB with throttle body cleaner it was dirty with carbon. This made the CEL light for my TPS sensor turn off after that I reassembled and started this procedure listed below and my car is doing pretty good so far. Its bn about 5 days since done. I got the procedure off of alldata.

Hope this helps. Its worth it not really time consuming @ all.

ECM Idle Lean Procedure
The idle learn procedure must be done so the ECM can learn the engine idle characteristics. Do the idle learn procedure whenever you do any of these actions:
• Disconnect the battery
• Replace the ECM or disconnect its connector.
• Reset the ECM.

NOTE: Erasing DTCs with the Honda PGM Tester does not require you to do the idle air learn procedure.

• Remove the No. 6 ECU ( ECM ) ( 15A ) fuse from the under - hood fuse/relay box.
• Remove the No. 19 battery ( 80A ) fuse from the under - hood fuse/relay box.
• Remove PGM-FI main relay 1.
• Remove any of the wires from the under - hood fuel __relay box__.
• Disconnect any of the connectors from the under - hood fuse relay box.
• Disconnect the connector between the engine compartment wire harness and ECM wire harness.
• Disconnect the G2 terminal from the transmission housing.
• Disconnect the G1 terminal from the body.
• Disconnect the G101 terminal from the cylinder head cover.

Procedure:
To complete the idle learn procedure, do this:
1. Make sure all electrical items ( A/C, audio, rear defogger, lights, etc., ) are off.
2, Start the engine, and hold it @ 3,000 rpm with no load ( in neutral ) until the radiator fan comes on, or until the engine coolant temperature reaches 194° F ( 90°C ).
3. Let engine idle for about 5 minutes with the throttle fully closed.

NOTE: If the radiator fan comes on, do not include its running time in on the 5 minutes.

i had the same problem on my type s because i hydrolock the motor. at first i thought that the problem was a wet tps sensor but when i check the motor compression cylinder # 3 was shooting only 60 psi . later we test the ecu on another car and i was fine..
