I own a 2004 rsx type s and recently had to replace the knock sensor. We replaced it no problem but I proceeded to get a CEL for P0325 and the car ran very poorly. We assumed the sensor was faulty and therefore got a replacement, installed, still had the same problem. After researching, I read that the sensors require a specific torque or close to it (23lbs). So we tested hand tightening as much as possible instead of using a socket wrench and tightening as much as possible. So far, no CEL and the car runs great now. Why is the knock sensor sensitive to the torque requirement? I am really confused about this.
