i don't know about $35g. it's more like $28k. sure you can strap a turbo on an RSX and sure it can probably beat the EVO.....but in a straight line. you add some turns and elevation and we'll see what the better car is.

the RSX is $20k. add a MOMO steering wheel, 17" Enkei rims with super sticky tires, Brembo on all 4, Recaro seats, a turbo system and i guarantee you it'll be almost $30k including labor. oh yeah, the Evo will still have a factory warranty.

yea its a put together car the man is right. mitsubishis are really just pieces of junk. hell i could make my rsx just as fast with all that name brand stuff for probably under 30,000 dollars. now the evo is like 35,000 then u gotta pay tax. more like a 40,000 dollar tv. (joke is that mitsubishi makes tvs)
And Acura makes chrome liscence plate holders... so? Even if the TV's quality sucked indefinately, it doesn't mean their cars are just as bad. Although I will agree the overall quality of shitsubishi's aren't that great, but you know you'd drive an EVO if you could afford one. If I could afford one I'd be done with my engine swap and turbo build so blah. :topicsuck

and hey u no if u put a turbo on the rsx, it will run faster then the EVO. for instance, the evo i think has like 15 psi stock and it runs like a 13.6 at best stock. some guy on club rsx pulled a 12.5 with his rsx at only 9 psi. stage 1 turbo and all. and now some guy who runs the same amount of boost 17psi i think ran a 11.9 orsomething,
The reason the Evo runs 19.5 psi and a turbo RSX runs 9 psi is the Evo comes with LOW compression pistons (8.8:1 which is lower than a base RSX) and the RSX comes with HIGH compression pistons (11:1).

Learn something about cars before you talk. They are two differently designed engines. The Evo is designed for boost. Try cramming 19 psi into the RSX-S and watch the pistons fly through the hood.

not too mention that the EVO is built for rally. I'm pretty sure that the street EVO's are not that much different than the rally evo, which is limited to 300 hp. mitsubishi could make a evo doing well over 300 hp from that 19 psi or whatever, just like honda could.

i'm not taking any sides, but this is such a pointless argument. The evo's got nice stuff, and more expensive, and u'd own it in a second if u could afford it. the rsx has style, and the kickass high end, along iwht the fact that it responds really friggin awesome to mods.

its not that i dont know what im talking bout becuase people are right its 2 different cars. i just really hate mitsubishi period, and the guy who said the evo is 28 grand is wrong. they have a downsized one that is coming with out all the nice crap called the evo rs for 28, but when i went to go look at the regular evo it was 35 grand. and no i wouldnt drive one if i had the money. i just hate evos period, and the people who drive them think that they are the shit. yea i guess im envious that the car has a turbo and mine doesnt but, hey honda probably will never put a turbo in there cars, simply becuase thats honda. and this post really does suck, just like mitsuibishi cars.

wrong again buddy. i paid, to be exact, $27, 895, which include the carbon spoiler and the sun-roof and the gauge packages.. my buddy also paid $27k. also, this was bought in july. the ones you were looking at probably came with all the option.

About a month ago, I was looking to trade my S for an Evo. I contacted the dealer and the sales guy told me he had 4 left over. I WAS going to go but then started to research the vehicle more. After reading the Evolutionm.Net forums, I decided to stick with my S for awhile. Some of the guys on that forum where dissapointed with the Mitsu dealers not fixing some kind of ECU flash problem that the Evo seems to have. This is just one of many problems that seem to be in posts on that forum. I guess my decision came down to build quality and reliability. I don't have the time to be visiting the dealer due to factory problems. Buy hey, read the forums, read consumer reports, and spend the money on what you want, to each his own. My $.02

19.5 with a 16g. not a fight but i just need to let this moron know wassup.
with the $$$ any car can run, and if you add a 4g63 it will make your job easier. there are a few turbo "regular" lancers out there and they are doing pretty good. the 4g63 is almost bullet proof and you can get BIGG hp w/o internal changes.
but I guess some of you intelillent people know all this already. Cant say the say thing about this moron :)
my friend has a turbo on his oz rally, hes pushing more hp than an evo and hes lighter once he gets some better tires hes gonna be set....although i hated my eclipse...mitsus are good starter cars with the exception of the evo...it sounds like his parents will buy him a lancer and honestly those things are a blast to work on...and i think he could learn alot from it and then get an rsx next time and feel like he has an even better car because hes going from an econmy car to a luxury car...but in the end test drive them both and see what you like....

not to mention the evo clutch problem not that every car doesnt have clutch problems but people are having their clutches go out at 3k miles in the evo, kind of like my eclipse...so something is deff wrong...

I live in Australia an I have a Integra Type R DC5 which is the same as the RSX Type S with the type s engine but type r body kit, I have seen a base lancer with a WRX turbo do 13.8 with 14 psi but the thing is the base lancer with a turbo will only make around 180 hp @ the wheels, it doen't matter if you put 30 psi it will not change, the RSX type s has a lot better engine.

While the EVO is an awesome car the regular lancer is a peice. Mitsubishi really did a good job with the EVO but they have ingnored the base lancer. If you have to choose forget the base lancer. Even with FI it will never be as fast as an rsx with similar amounts of cash in it, not to mention the fact it looks like shit and is very no frills. So if you really must pick you will be much happier with the base rsx. You may not wanna hear this but if it is your first car that you just bought, you dont wanna turbocharge it. Doing so would be like burning the Mitsu factory warrenty form. Most importantly though, chances are you will fuck something up. You are obviously inexeirened and the last thing you need is an aftermaket turbo car. Plu it would cat you a lot more than 5grand to do so.

What you really should do if you really like the rsx is simply talk your parents into spending a few extra grand for the type s. I got mine for 21500 OTD. Its a much better car and you get a lot for the few grand difference (ie leather interior, 6spd, nice stereo, and an extra 40 hp from an all aroung better motor). Then you can just work from there. If you look on the lancer forums you`ll see that none of the regular lancer have done better then 13s. Something thats relatively easy in an rsx with NA mods.

If you want a stock turbo car in that price range then i suggest you check out the SRT4. Yes its american, yes its technically a neon, but it is a very nice car for the value. The whole "boy racer" thing isn`t my style but some people are into that look and its still a very faced car. I`ve raced a few in my RSX-S and i`m not ashamed to admit i got uterly punished. They are easily the most underrated car today power wise. I think Dodge claims 240 at the crank but my friend just dynoed his and made 238whp. From a roll most people have no trouble keeping up with stock evos. You can pick up one for 20k brand new and they come with a LSD now as well as bigger injectors. I still like my rsx better though, overall its a much nicer car the SRT4 just has more power.
