Major Problem

I was re-tightening my race header bolts , when I notice one bolt wasn’t tightening at all so I took it off and stuck to the bolt where pieces of metal so my question is will this be expensive to fix , and will the only negative effect on the car while driving be a minor exhaust leak...?

You stripped the head? You can retap it or use a helicoil.

Well if you have to ask, then don't do it yourself. Bite the bullet and have a tech do it for you.

1 more thing there wont be damage to the car if i drive it for a few days like this right..? only the leak?

:dontknow: There shouldn't be a problem but don't quote me on that one. Considering the entire weight of the header rests on those bolts, I can see how things could go wrong (the other studs breaking, etc). Not that it's likely to happen, but you never know :p
it really shouldn't be a problem, its only a very minor leak that wont affect anything. I had to re-taper my bolt and it was fine. just don't put it off i guess.

wait in fact the i got my header used and the guy who i bought it from said he only ran with 3 bolts on lmao, so i guess there isn't any harm? :dontknow:

but either way read up on how to use a taper tool and its easy as hell

If it ends up that you need to drill & put in helicoil, pay close attention to the length of the bolt / studs length (part that goes into head ) so that you will not drill in too far. A Water jacket will likely be right behind that hole.

This is probably best. We are fixing stripped out bolts and holes almost every day. Its easy for us. And besides, If the shop did mess up, whats 100 or so bucks in piece of mind, knowing that the shop is paying for the head? As for drilling to deep, Not really a problem. Only an idiot would drill into a head without marking the depth on the drill bit first.

Just thought i'd mention it for preventing a mishap. I just have a goodwill sunroof replaced at acura dealer ...Has to come back out ...too low & bangs (too far forward ) Waste of $55.00 So even the best mess up i guess!:thumbsdow
I agree with Keith if you have to ask have a pro do it. You don't want to be learning techniques like that on a head bolt. If you want to play around with heli coils and learn then do it on an old lawn mower engine.

Was is the sunroof assy, or just the glass? Theres not much to replacing the glass. And I've been noticing lately that when the glass isnt situating correctly, its usually something to do with the frame.

It was just a glass replacement ....was forced to have it installed and pay for at dealer . Don't get me wrong, i was going to take it out anyways to undercoat it with something. But it was a waste of money from my point .
