Went to Umbra to get tints removed. Nino is the guy - $40 to get just the sides removed.
Nice and clean work. Took less than 30 minutes

Just got my car back from Hi-Tech in Des Plaines. They did a helluva job on the body. I hit a median after hitting a patch of black ice and damaged the entire left side of my car and the back bumper after spinning from the impact. They replaced everything with NEW parts (they even cut my old quarter panel so that they had a reason to replace it) except for the door which they just reskinned and the wheels which were just remachined. Only problem is that they fucked up my alignment. I was told previously that i bent a trailing arm and possibly damaged a swingarm from the accident and that the parts needed to be replaced. Hi-Tech sent my car to another shop for the alignment...and i think that shop half assed the alignment. Would i go back for body work? Yeah...but i'm still on the fence about whether or not to trust their alignment services. Any other shops closer to the Skokie area in Illinois outside of Thalmans? I've driven almost 300 miles (200+ with a REALLY messed up alignment) and i'm trying to minimize my driving. Anybody have any other places they recommend or will Peterson Auto be able to check my car out too?

[UPDATE] 7/17/13
Looking back on this post makes me cringe a little. Clearly I was a bit overexcited about getting my car back. Looking back on the work, I'd say this place did a shoddy job at best. The door panel that was repaired has begun to rust from the inside out. You can literally see the bubbling that's slowly growing from under the paint. At first it was one isolate location, but now it's spread to other edges of the door. My passenger side door hasn't had any issues with rust whereas my driverside door, which mind you, was repainted and also looks worse than ever. With the alignment fiasco and now this. I definitely would stay away. What a waste of time.

any good, reputable autoshops in Milwaukee?

My rear bumper needs to get re-painted.
It was involved in a hit-n-run but luckly no severe damage.

So I finally got my window tint done. I interviewed many installers in the Chicagoland area, including all the ones on this list. Then when I went to Fizz Autosport, I saw a couple show cars they had in the back with excellent tint work; one a Silvia, the other a VIP Bimmer. The guys at Fizz use this place:
We Wash‎ (ask for Aaron)
2042 S Halsted St, Chicago, IL‎
(312) 421-7770‎
Yes, it's a simple car wash. But they have a very skilled tint installer on hand. They installed 5% on the three rear windows with a vinyl strip (that I provided) over the horrid dot matrix and included their $20 platinum wash and all the G2 I could drink for a total of $130. It was all done in about an hour and a half. I'm very happy with their work. The vinyl is an acceptable solution if the white band left by our enormous dot matrix bothers you. Fair warning though, the vinyl doesn't exactly match the tint so under harsh light (like flourescent shop lighting for example) it's painfully obvious. In natural light, it's not noticeable. The other problem with the vinyl is it is installed on the outside of the glass, so it will wear and scratch fairly easily over time. All in all, I highly recommend this place.

I can vouch for Fizz Motorsports. Great service + work.. and Sonny is one cool ass dood. The owner/mechanic also has one sick white silvia.

Hey, out of the tint shops posted, can anyone recommend me a place that can remove tint? I need all of my windows stripped off my Acura TL.. otherwise, I will end up paying $350+ because of the new retarded IL law regarding having your front windows tinted.
