Ok, so we all like to mod here, since we've stuck around even AFTER Smalls has left..so there has to be something else (to you premie guys...I know why you're still here).

Anyway, just started modding my M this week..

Its in the shop right now getting a v-CSL bootlid on ($900+ install fees)
Just picked up a USED El Diablo exhaust and borla Midpipes ($800 for the exhaust, $700 for the midpipes).

anyway, it just got me thinking about how much I miss being able to get GOOD results out of 1500 dollars in mods on the RSX I used to have...where as now..for the damn near 2500 Ive just spent, I MIGHT get 5hp..MAYBE...

Have any of you totaled up how much you've spent in mods so far? Im sure there has been a thread about this before..but whatever...

:hoho::hoho::hoho:

M's are expensive to mod. Was your bootlid that much after paint? Modbargains has the cf one for around $600 or so I thought.

I spent $3700 on mods for my G35 that I had for 6 months. Wheels and tires, front lip, painted splash guards, intake, tint, drop, and small stuff. They don't cost as much as the m's do though.
yeah M's are expensive to mod!

I have around 5k into my car :-X all "performance"
i stopped after 2.5k Now i'm ready to part out and start on a better platform. I see myself spending a ton of money on next car tho.

Yeah that. Bolt-ons were cool, revving really high is cool, but I'm pretty much just waiting for some drunk driver to blow a red light and total my car at this point.

I hear you...but nothing exceeds like excess...and anything worth doin is worth doin right..and since i don't have anymore cliches...it's like this:

cars are a bad investment to begin with (unless you spend near 7 figures). We know they're already a bad investment..so at least we spend money on ways to make these 'bad investments' more enjoyable haha.

edit: and lulz @ you thinking about car being totaled in drunk driver accident > you being ok after said incident.

how much did your whole blower set up run you? Assuming you already had a tunable ecu (i.e. k-pro)

When it was all said and done $1900 for just the blower + injectors

k-pro, cold air, motor mounts, exhaust, methanol injection, and a header are my other mods.

clutch also but thats not installed

I think the total is around $4400

haha, im on the 7lb pulley at the moment. I need a test pipe and auto tensioner before I go to 9lbs.
you have a jackson racing charger? or the comptech?
see...if i wanted to supercharge my m...even the smallest consideration would set me back like 6grand...and that's alot. haha so who knows..i think this is going to be the first car that i dont do many performance mods in terms of adding power. Coilovers and wheels are in the future...but this exhaust set up is prolly as far as Im going to take it..maybe a set of pullies...
I dont remember what site it was but it was posted in the turbo rsx vs s/c m3 thread, I though a stage 1 set up was like 4500ish. I dont know what was included in the kit / what else you need but..
Most SC kits I see are 10k or more for the M. You have to have a lot of money to blow if you want a FI m3.

that may have been jsut for the blower...injectors, tune, etc etc...it adds up..im sure you know that.
Yeah, I dont know what that kit actually contained and my number is most likely off lol.
