Hi,

After you pass that MSF class do you get license also? Or do I need to goto the DMV to take the road test?

A friend of mine mention something about taking a course and at the end of the course if you pass their test you get licensed. It's a private company but they are certified to give out the road test. Is the MSF course similar to that? Thanks

It depends on your state. Pennsylvania definately yes because that is what I did. Why not just find out from your DMV?
In Texas, if you take the MSF that counts as the riding portion of your DMV test. You then take your certificate or whatever the course gives you, bring it to the DMV and then you take the written, then you get the M on your license.
I live in nyc and according to DMV they said that you can take a course and if pass you get licensed. So msf is probably the course I need to take
in order to take the MSF course you need to get your permit which involves taking a written test.

once you pass the MSF class you will be award your class m license.

this is probably the same for all states but i am in PA.

I can't wait to get my motorcycle license. How is purchasing a new bike? Is it like purchasing a car? Can you negotiate on the price or is it set and you have to pay the MSRP?
you can negotiate.. it all depends on the bike and how much it is.

i got my license right after i passed the msf course.. went right out to the dmv showed them my msf card and they took my picture.. that simple!

what kind of bike are you looking into?
I'd wait to take the MSF and get your license before you look into bikes specifically :p
I'm looking to get the Suzuki GS500F

its similar to buying a car. if they have the bike on the floor then you can probably deal with them. however, if they have to order the bike you will probably be stuck paying MSRP.
Took my first bike lesson today from a private instructor and riding a bike is really fun. I did pretty well for the first time ridding. The bike we used was some 250cc cruiser bike.

What kind of gloves do you guys use? Do you have the short gloves or the long ones that covers your wrist as well?
Here in cali you can do :

Sing up for the MSF course and then go to the dmv with certificate, take the written test and done, or
take the written test first get your permit, sing up for msf, bring certificate and done

I did the second, took my written test first, then MSF, I actually have to finish MSF this sat and sunday, after ill get my license, but I already have my bike and I'm riding with my permit

I got some alpine* gloves, they are pretty comfy
