how do i get my shift boot to stay connected with the mugen shift knob? since it doesn't have the little clips that are attached onto the stock knob the boot is loose. and also, if i don't want to screw it down all the way in, what should i do? can i get a nut or something to stop it? if so, what size nut and is there any particular type i need to buy? thanks.

You need a shift boot adapter. Usually comes with the type R/ aluminum shift knob, but you can by it separate at any dealer.
